Sann Rodrigues laundered assets through DFRF Enterprises

dfrf-enterprises-logoWe’d previously learnt that Sann Rodrigues was actively promoting the DFRF Enterprises Ponzi scheme.

Who knew though, that in an effort to hide his assets from the SEC, Rodrigues’ ties to DFRF and Founder Daniel Filho run oh so much deeper? [Continue reading…]

Rodrigues drops “no English” contempt defense

telexfree-logoFollowing a contempt hearing on September 30th, the court directed Sann Rodrigues to file a Memorandum in Support of why he shouldn’t be held in contempt.

Previously Rodrigues’ attorneys had argued that he couldn’t speak English, and therefore didn’t understand the asset freeze order in place.

The SEC declared that argument “nonsense“, with footage of Rodrigues speaking English proving otherwise.

In a memorandum filed earlier today, Rodrigues appears to have dropped the whole “me no speak English” schtick.

Instead, Rodrigues is now arguing that providing the SEC with the requested detailed accounting records might incriminate him in related ongoing investigations. [Continue reading…]

Prosecution’s closing in Samoa uFun Club case

ufunclub-logoFollowing the logic fail of defense attorney Leota Schuster, who argued that pyramid schemes should be legalized, now comes the prosecution’s closing arguments.

Deception has become a primary issue in the criminal case, with both the defense and prosecution addressing it.

Whereas the defense argued that no deception had taken place because those deceived didn’t acknowledge they were deceived, the prosecution argued

the trio accused knew that the company UFun Group they represented had been closed down, yet they encouraged investors to invest in the company’s UToken packages.

Vemma & FTC settle affiliate reclassification issue

vemma-logoDespite being given permission to restart business operations weeks ago, to date Vemma’s business operations remain in stand-still.

The reason is due to Vemma wishing to automatically reclassify their affiliates as retail customers. The FTC opposed and the two parties have been in deadlock.

Through two separate court filings, the matter was set to go to court. In a filing made late this afternoon however, it was revealed that a settlement has been reached. [Continue reading…]

John Wuo resigns from Arcadia City Council

usfia-logoPutting off the inevitable, breaking news out of Arcadia tonight that John Wuo has resigned from the Arcadia City Council.

john-wuo-arcadia-city-council-meeting-july-23-2015As per a letter submitted to sitting mayor Gary A. Kovacic:

Dear Honorable Mayor Kovacic,

It is with great regret and sadness that I have to resign from my position as council member, effective immediately due to personal and health reasons.

For the last twelve years I have enjoyed serving on the council with you, our colleagues and many of our friends.

It has been an experience that I am thankful for and will always treasure.

Our team at the city is second to none. Our wonderful staff works hard to make sure that we provide the best service to the residents.

That is the Arcadia way, and I think it is the best way.

There is still a rough road ahead and difficult decisions will need to be made to ensure that Arcadia continues to run like a well-oiled machine.

I have total confidence in the current council to do just that.

I love Arcadia and it is time to say goodbye. Best wishes to all, best regards,

John Wuo

Mini Oil Well Review: Deceptive candle marketing

mini-oil-wells-logoIdentified as owner of the company on the Mini Oil Well website is Timothy Drobnick.

Drobnick has previously launched the social networking site WOM Vegas and is also an affiliate with Cloud Canyon.

WOM Vegas is basically a social network marketing platform, and Cloud Canyon an opportunity that revolves around scented candles.

timothy-drobnick-mini-oil-wellWhen I went to the Cloud Canyon website I was automatically assigned Drobnick (right) as an upline.

Further research reveals the creator of the company is cited as Barbara Drobnick (presumably Tim Drobnick’s wife).

In a marketing video on the Mini Oil Well website, Drobnick explains he created Mini Oil Well to help market his Cloud Canyon business to salons.

I decided to create the Mini-Oil-Wells because I need some help with follow up on these salons.

I would like to have ten different people have an interest in the income from these salons so that they can help me with social media follow up.

Most of these salons have Facebook pages. If we have 10 people posting on their Facebook page for the purpose of promoting Cloud Canyon, this will help considerably to turn these salons into a very profitable Mini-Oil-Well.

All I need is to have someone post no more than 10 times per year but at least one time per month, using the posts I give you and posting it where I tell you.

It would either be on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Read on for a full review of the Mini Oil Well MLM business opportunity. [Continue reading…]

moneytreeteam-logoThere is no information on the MoneyTreeTeam website indicating who owns or runs the business.

The MoneyTreeTeam website domain (“moneytreeteam.com”) was registered on the 8th of July 2015, with web developer “iStart Innovations LCC” listed as the owner. An address in Lagos, Nigeria is also provided.

The email address used to register the MoneyTreeTeam domain is tied to the “coordinator” of the “1st International Conference of Network Marketers”, an MLM event held on the 3rd of October in Nigeria.

Bringing over 2500 Network Marketers, MLM Leaders, Online Program, High Earners, Awards Beneficiaries etc. together from various Network Marketing and Multi-Level Marketing Companies across the globe in one single event.. 4 Great Workshop Sessions, 2 Conference Sessions; Products Exhibition, FREE Products Sampling and Networking Session.

The Facebook page for the event is maintained by a “Joseph Peters”, but whether or not he is the coordinator of the event is unclear.

As always, if an MLM company is not openly upfront about who is running or owns it, think long and hard about joining and/or handing over any money. [Continue reading…]

OneCoin cancel US Las Vegas event

onecoin-logoThe evasion of US regulators by OneCoin continues, with the latest seeing the Ponzi scheme cancel it’s upcoming US event.

To be attended by OneCoin management and seen by many to confirmation that the company was not worried about being shut down by regulators, turns out it was a sham all along.

As per a recent US investor affiliate call,

The Las Vegas event was going to be a big national public event.

Dr. Ruja was not going to be at this event. There was actually going to be a lot of other top leaders from other countries from around the world, the national distributor and also a compliance department (member).

To date Ignatova has not entered the US to support local events, fueling speculation that she might be aware of regulatory investigations concerning OneCoin. [Continue reading…]

OneCoin abandon US operations

onecoin-logoIt hasn’t been a good for week for OneCoin.

It started off with complaints from affiliates who hadn’t been paid for a month. Then came the abrupt announcement that OneCoin was changing its bank.

It was later revealed that the change of banks occurred after the Bulgarian Financial Supervision Commission issued a warning against OneCoin investment.

Almost $200,000 was stolen from an affiliate who dared to question why they weren’t getting paid, and new mandatory recruitment criteria was introduced to stop affiliates who didn’t promote OneCoin from withdrawing funds.

Now the situation continues to deteriorate, with news that OneCoin have formally abandoned their US operations. [Continue reading…]
