Lyoness Ponzi scammer Hubert Freidl has fled Europe for Dubai.

The move places both regulatory and legal distance between Freidl and Lyoness victims worldwide.

Given Dubai’s status as the MLM crime capital of the world, Freidl might also be looking to get ahead of pending criminal charges.

Freidl, an Austrian national, is believed to have fled Europe around April 2026. This follows Freidl’s Lyoness Ponzi scheme collapsing in September 2025.

Freidl launched Lyoness 2003. Lyoness’ original business model saw consumers invest in “account units”.

Over the next two decades Freidl tweaked Lyoness’ business model, rebooting it under multiple names; Lyconet, Cashback World and finally myWorld at time of collapse.

At time of its collapse, Lyoness owed over $110 million to creditors. Undocumented Lyoness losses over twenty-two years are assumed to be much higher.

To the ongoing detriment of Lyoness victims, Austrian authorities have failed to take action against Freidl. Now having allowed him to flee the country altogether.

Just before Lyoness collapsed Spanish authorities arrested Joaquin Garcia de la Brena, head of myWorld Spain. Whether Austrian authorities are even investigating Lyoness and Freidl remains unclear.

After settling down in Dubai, Freidl began reinventing himself as a “strategic advisor”. To that end Freidl registered the domain “salters.com” on May 3rd, 2026.

Freidl pitches Salters Advisory as

a boutique advisory operation working with a carefully selected group of founders and ventures on strategy, structure, and execution.

Based in Dubai. Operating globally.

Freidl is the only founder and principal featured on Salters’ website. There is no mention of Lyoness or its associated names.

Unless someone was also looking to scam people through a Ponzi scheme, why anyone would hire Freidl as an advisor is unclear.
