Risen Live Review: iBuumerang resurrection scheme
Risen Live operates in the personal care, supplements, clothing and trading MLM niches.
Risen Live’s website domain (“risen.live”), was first registered in February 2024. The private registration was last updated on March 28th, 2025.
Heading up Risen Live we have founder and CEO Hatem Sherien, an Egyptian national based out of Dubai.
Sherien was appointed Vice President of Dubli in December 2018.
Dubli, aka Ominto, was an ecommerce MLM pyramid scheme that collapsed in 2022.
After Dubli Sherien signed up to promote the Riseoo ecommerce MLM pyramid scheme.

Risoo’s website is still online but, based on its social media profiles being abandoned, appears to have collapsed towards the end of 2023.
Sherien launched Risen Live in early to mid 2024, primarily targeting Egypt. Roughly one and a half years in, SimilarWeb was tracking less than 500 monthly visits to Risen Live’s website.
In early October, Risen Live announced Holton Buggs would be joining the company as Chairman of the Board. This coincided with Buggs selling iBuumerang assets to Risen Live. The terms of the sale are not public.
iBuumerang launched in 2019 as a discounted travel MLM company. A forex trading scheme named Ellev8 was later added, prompting a fraud warning from New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority.
If I had to mark iBuumerang’s decline, it’d be circa 2022 with Buggs’ launch of Meta Bounty Hunters.
Although he’d been trying to get into crypto fraud since 2018, Meta Bounty Hunters marked Buggs’ full-blown transition to MLM crypto Ponzi fraudster.
Buggs’ shift in focus saw him pillage iBuumerang to feed his Ponzi addiction. As Meta Bounty Hunters was collapsing, Buggs launched a Meta Bounty Huntresses sequel in late 2022.
Both of Buggs’ Meta Bounty Ponzi schemes collapsed in February 2023.
In addition to his own MLM crypto Ponzi schemes, Buggs emerged as a top promoter of The Traders Domain Ponzi scheme in early 2023.
Buggs is believed to have been feeding Meta Bounty Hunter and Meta Bounty Huntress investor funds into The Traders Domain.
A database leak in June 2023 revealed Buggs had purportedly stole over $125 million through The Traders Domain.

The same leaked database pegged The Traders Domain Ponzi losses at $3.3 billion. Meta Bounty Hunters and Meta Bounty Huntresses losses are unknown. Ditto how much iBuumerang promoters Buggs lured into the Ponzi schemes lost.
Buggs was named as a defendant in an October 2024 CFTC lawsuit targeting The Traders Domain scammers.
The CFTC revealed Buggs personally recruited “at least 517” investors, who together invested “no less than $54 million” into The Traders Domain.
By this stage the damage to iBuumerang was irreversible. iBuumerang disabled promoter withdrawals in May 2025.
At time of publication the outcome of the CFTC’s lawsuit against Buggs remains pending.
BehindMLM’s guidelines for Dubai are:
- If someone lives in Dubai and approaches you about an MLM opportunity, they’re trying to scam you.
- If an MLM company is based out of or represents it has ties to Dubai, it’s a scam.
If you want to know how this specifically applies to Risen Live, read on for a full review.

Note that Risen Live does not disclose retail pricing for any of its products on its website.
Presently iBuumerang carryover services do not appear on Risen Live’s website. Pricing is taken from a recent Risen Live marketing presentation directed at iBuumerang promoters:
- QuickCoach – trading education for $50 a month
- Sips and Pips – live trading events and trade ideas for $99 a month
There’s also mention of “iGo discounts” in Risen Live’s promoter membership options. iGo is a discounted travel platform offered through iBuumerang.
There’s no mention of iGo on Risen Live’s website so like iBuumerang’s trading services, it doesn’t appear to be a focus.

Retail Commissions
Risen Live promoters earn a commission on product orders by personally recruited promoters.
Retail commission rates are not disclosed.
Recruitment Commissions
Risen Live promoters earn a commission on recruitment of new promoters:
- recruit a Standard Package promoter = $25
- recruit a Premium Package promoter = $75
- recruit a Level Up Package promoter = $150
A bonus $60 is paid per three promoters recruited within a month.
Residual Commissions (unilevel)
A unilevel compensation structure places a promoter at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited promoter placed directly under them (level 1):

If any level 1 promoters recruit new promoters, they are placed on level 2 of the original promoter’s unilevel team.
If any level 2 promoters recruit new promoters, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.
Risen Live caps payable unilevel team levels at five.
Residual unilevel commissions are paid as a percentage of sales volume generated across these five levels based on rank:
- Star Achievers and Bronze Stars earn 7% on level 1 (personally recruited promoters)
- Silver Stars and Gold Stars earn 7% on level 1 and 5% on level 2
- Platinum Stars earn 7% on level 1, 5% on level 2 and 3% on level 3
- Sapphires through Emerald earn 7% on level 1, 5% on level 2, 3% on level 3 and 2% on level 4
- Diamonds and higher earn 7% on level 1, 5% on level 2, 3% on level 3, 2% on level 4 and 1% on level 5
Residual Commissions (binary)
A binary compensation structure places a promoter at the top of a binary team, split into two sides (left and right):

The first level of the binary team houses two positions. The second level of the binary team is generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).
Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing twice as many positions as the previous level.
Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of promoters. Note there is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow.
Residual binary team commissions are paid as a percentage of sales volume generated on the weaker binary team side, capped monthly based on rank:
- Star Achievers earn 7%, capped at $50 a month
- Bronze Stars earn 7%, capped at $250 a month
- Silver Stars earn 7%, capped at $200 a month
- Gold Stars earn 8%, capped at $250 a month
- Platinum Stars earn 8%, capped at $300 a month
- Sapphires earn 9%, capped at $800 a month
- Rubys earn 9%, capped at $1200 a month
- Emeralds earn 10%, capped at $2500 a month
- Diamonds earn 10%, capped at $8000 a month
- Blue Diamonds earn 11%, capped at $12,000 a month
- Black Diamonds earn 11%, capped at $15,000 a month
- Crown Diamonds earn 11%, capped at $20,000 a month
- Royal Diamonds earn 12%, capped at $30,000 a month
- Global Diamonds earn 12%, capped at $60,000 a month
- Global Ambassadors earn 13%, capped at $150,000 a month
Once paid out, volume is matched against the stronger binary team side and flushed. Leftover volume carries over.

Risen Live Conclusion
As far as Dubai scams go, Risen Live is pretty tame. Typically we see fraudulent investment schemes tied to Dubai, Risen Live does have a trading component through iBuumerang, but it’s a pretty vanilla trading education and signals offering.
As noted in the review, iBuumerang’s trading services are currently not present on Risen Live’s website. I think this ties into Risen Live probably operating as a pyramid scheme.
While not an outright identifiable pyramid scheme, signs suggesting Risen Live is one include:
- lack of retail pricing on Risen Live’s website; and
- retail commission explanation absent from compensation plan documentation (which is also not provided on Risen Live’s website).
In order to operate as a pyramid scheme, the majority of Risen Live product order revenue would have to come from promoters. Risen Live only bringing in a few hundred monthly website visits a year and a half out from launch suggests there’s no retail viability.
Supporting this is Risen Live’s recent Black Friday sale, which was exclusively pitched at promoters.

What I suspect has been realized is pyramid schemes in the middle-east aren’t really a thing (at least not on their own, MLM investment fraud are also inherently pyramid schemes).
As much as Hatem Sherien has played up Holton Buggs joining Risen Live, the intent from the Risen Live side is likely to gain access to the US through iBuumerang promoters.
Buggs’ reputation in the MLM industry is in tatters. iBuumerang’s services aren’t on Risen Live’s website so they don’t seem to matter either. It’s access to the US and the hope Risen Live will grow nationally that’s the drawcard.
This will probably see Risen Live’s MLM opportunity reduced to sign up as a promoter, pay a fee and recruit others who do the same. The merger is essentially two MLM companies coming together with little to no retail customers between them (if that wasn’t the case both companies wouldn’t have failed).

One last point I want to make is Risen Live’s compensation plan seems designed to screw the majority of promoters out of earnings.
This is from Risen Live’s compensation plan documentation:

- Inactive = no PV or BV, no commissions and generated GV doesn’t count
- Active – 10 PV a month, no commissions or bonuses
- Qualify – 60 PV a month, “qualified to get paid”
Simply put, Risen Live promoters have to generate 60 PV a month in order to qualify to “get paid”.
So why do we have no less than five Risen Live promoter ranks with a less than 60 PV a month requirement? By the above slide, Risen Live promoters in the Star Achiever to Platinum Star ranks are not getting paid.
Historically the majority of an MLM company’s promoter-base either doesn’t qualify for rank or qualifies for the first few ranks. In Risen Live this translates to the majority of promoters not getting paid. Great for company owners but um… what?
And bringing us back to Risen Live likely being a pyramid scheme, 60 PV a month isn’t the only requirement for Sapphire. You’re also looking at a six promoter recruitment requirement.
So one Risen Live promoter has to be generating 60 PV a month and have recruited six promoters to actually withdraw earned commissions.
That’s not just a likely pyramid scheme, it’s one in which all but a select few are actually getting paid what they’ve earned.
Not much different than a regular MLM pyramid scheme, but definitely set up to guarantee losses across as many promoters as possible.
I’ll leave it up to you whether Holton Buggs’ conduct over the past few years in MLM Ponzi circles is worth ignoring to join Risen Live.
If you can overlook over a hundred million in consumer losses, at the very least query your potential upline on their monthly retail sales activity.
You’re looking for at least 60 PV a month in consistent retail sales. If that’s not there, you’re being recruited on the expectation you recruit others into a pyramid scheme.
iBuumerang collapsed such that withdrawals have already been disabled once. Risen Live seems to only have a handful of promoters.
That’s bad enough but there’s also the possibility Buggs comingled iBuumerang accounts with his MLM Ponzi scamming, putting his stake in Risen Live at risk.
That might not be the case but it’s certainly not something I’d be willing to gamble on given Buggs’ adamant refusal to take any accountability for The Traders Domain and his Meta Bounty Hunters/Huntresses Ponzi schemes.
