Trevon James gagged by SEC on BitConnect subpoena appearance
Since his September 14th appearance before the SEC, Trevon James has been awfully quiet on social media.
In his first YouTube video since the appearance, James has confirmed the SEC has gagged him from talking publicly about what was discussed.
In the weeks leading up to his appearance James, who is believed to have stolen well over a million dollars through BitConnect, had been posting on social media daily.
Regarding his appearance before the SEC, in a September 21st video titled “After My SEC Testimony” James states;
[8:07] Yeah I went but I’m not – they said I can’t talk about it.
I really want to talk about it though but it’s best not to, y’know, swing at the beehive.
After deliberating for a few moments on whether or not to say anything further, James states only that the SEC’s New York office was “very intimidating”.
In addition to the SEC’s investigation into BitConnect, James is also a person of interest in a concurrent FBI criminal investigation.
Pending action by US authorities, specific details of either BitConnect investigation are at this stage unclear.
This gag order has to be worse than a life sentence in prison for him. It is killing him he can’t mouth off and twist things to make himself look good.
This is the same guy that said he was not afraid of any law enforcement agency or the SEC, het here he is ordered by the SEC to zip his lips. The mouth of the south has been shut up.
Talk about poetic justice.
I want to point out that legally there’s no law prohibiting James from speaking about his appearance.
The SEC might have told him not to talk about it but ultimately it’s still his own decision.
So why isn’t he talking about it? I suppose we could call it the YouTube version of pleading the fifth.
The SEC just don’t want James blabbing about specifics of their investigation that might come to light until they’re ready to file lawsuits.
Just speculation on my part, if Trevon is following the advice of a competent attorney, that could well explain his reluctance to speak.
In fact it’s harder to imagine anything he could say that would be more damaging to his potential prosecution than it could be to his defense.
His whole “I want to talk but they wont let me” shtick makes him look better to his followers if he doesn’t admit that “they” in this case are his own legal counsel.
Especially if he found need to inform on his former cohorts.
But but but Trevon James thinks lawyers are a waste of
moneystolen BitConnect investor funds!Trevon should get used to being gagged 😛 From what I hear there’s no kindness in prison but a ‘whole’ lorra luvin 😛
