Genusity Review: Bluetooth beacon marketing devices
Genusity operate in the marketing MLM niche and are based out of North Carolina in the US.
A marketing video on the Genusity website reveals Randy Thomas and Tim Sebert are co-founders of the company.
In the video Sebert claims he’s
been in the network marketing industry now going on forty-one years this October.
Randy Thomas claims he’s been ‘in the network marketing industry for over twenty-six years‘.
The most prominent MLM companies they’ve been affiliates of appear to be Skinny Body Care and before that, Global Domains International.
In 2015 Sebert and Thomas signed up as HopRocket affiliates. In 2016 they launched the 10x Recruiter pyramid scheme.
Today the 10x Recruiter website is still online, however Alexa traffic estimates for the site suggest it has long since collapsed.
Read on for a full review of the Genusity MLM opportunity.
Genusity Products
The Genusity website proclaims:
Traditional Advertising Is Dead! Stop Wasting Your Money!
No one reads the Newspaper these days. People don’t watch cable, they watch Netflix and Hulu! Radio ads are never heard anymore.
Banners and Billboards are too expensive!
At Genusity, We Have The Solution!
That solution is Bluetooth beacons, through which users can
place their messages and websites in front of everyone with an Android cell phone (with Bluetooth enabled) within their radius.
- Genusity BB – a fully standalone and portable Bluetooth proximity beacon, retails for $20 and then $10 a month
- Genusity BB Sport – an all-weather, wearable, long-life proximity beacon, no retail pricing provided
- Genusity BAP – “best used for Retail Stores, Restaurants, Businesses, Stadiums, etc.”, retails at $55 and then $25 a month (also available in a 5 pack for $79 and then $49 a month, or a 10 pack for $129 and then $99 a month)
- Boom – best used for Millennial Entrepreneurs on the go as well as Restaurants, Stores, Malls, etc., retails at $55 and then $25 a month (also available in a 5 pack for $79 and then $49 a month or a 10 pack for $129 and then $99 a month

- Genusity Advertising System – “includes our complete Genusity Advertising System (G.A.S.) along with the complete Business Advertising Sales System (B.A.S.S.)”, retails at $15 a month
Genusity’s products are also available in a Mega Pack, which includes one of each beacon.
The Mega Pack costs $198 and then $99 a month.
Note the monthly fee is for service activation, without which the broadcast ad on the beacons cannot be changed.
The Genusity Compensation Plan
Genusity pay commissions on the sale of beacon products to both retail customers and recruited affiliates.
Genusity Affiliate Ranks
There are five ranks within the Genusity compensation plan.
Along with their respective qualification criteria, they are as follows:
- Associate – sign up as a Genusity affiliate
- IR – generate one retail customer and recruit and maintain at least one active affiliate
- Gold – generate at least fifteen retail customers, recruit and maintain at least ten affiliates and have a total monthly downline volume of $10,000
- Platinum – generate at least twenty retail customers, recruit and maintain at least fifteen affiliates (three must be Gold or higher) and have a total monthly downline volume of $50,000
- Diamond – generate at least thirty retail customers, recruit and maintain at least twenty affiliates (three must be Platinum or higher) and have a total monthly downline volume of $250,000
Retail customers count towards rank qualification so long as they continue to pay their monthly service fee.
Affiliates count toward rank qualification so long as they continue to pay their monthly $15 affiliate fee.
Direct and Residual Commissions
Genusity pay direct and residual commissions via a unilevel compensation structure.
A unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them (level 1):
If any level 1 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team.
If any level 2 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.
Direct and residual commissions are paid as a percentage of beacon sales and monthly fees paid by retail customers and recruited affiliates (excludes monthly affiliate fee).
Genusity cap payable unilevel levels at three, with commissions paid out on each level as follows:
First Month Commission
- Associates earn 25% on level 1 (personal retail customers and recruited affiliates) and 5% on level 2
- IR ranked affiliates earn 30% on level 1, 10% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
- Gold ranked affiliates earn 35% on level 1, 10% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
- Platinum ranked affiliates earn 40% on level 1, 10% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
- Diamond ranked affiliates earn 45% on level 1, 10% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
Ongoing Monthly Fee Commission
- Associates earn 5% on level 1 and 25% on level 2
- IR ranked affiliates earn 10% on level 1, 30% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
- Gold ranked affiliates earn 10% on level 1, 35% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
- Platinum ranked affiliates earn 10% on level 1, 40% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
- Diamond ranked affiliates earn 10% on level 1, 45% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
Infinity Overrides
Infinity Overrides enable a Genusity affiliate to earn beyond the first three levels of their unilevel team.
- Gold ranked affiliates earn 3% from level 4 to the first Gold ranked affiliate found in each unilevel leg
- Platinum affiliates earn 6% from level 4 to the first Gold ranked affiliate found in each unilevel leg and then 3% to the first Platinum
- Diamond ranked affiliates earn 9% from level 4 to the first Gold ranked affiliate found in each unilevel leg, 6% then to the first Platinum, 3% then to the first Diamond and 1% then to the second Diamond
Note that if all paid generations in each rank are not satisfied, the last generation of a unilevel leg runs down to the end of the leg itself (hence the term “Infinity Override”, also known as an Infinity Bonus).
Joining Genusity
Genusity affiliate membership is $15 a month.
Conclusion
I’ve reviewed a few Bluetooth beacon MLM opportunities now and my opinion on the beacons hasn’t changed.
I can’t stand spam and I don’t run anything on my phone I don’t need to. This includes Bluetooth, which I keep disabled unless I’m specifically trying to connect my phone to an another device.
For me and anyone who uses their phone in a similar manner, Genusity’s beacons are all but useless. We won’t be reached.
Despite Bluetooth defaulting to disabled on most mobile devices, comments left on our Royaltie and Asirvia reviews suggest some people do leave Bluetooth on.
With respect to spam, the argument here is that notification disappear when a phone travels outside the broadcast range of a device.
Fine if you’re travelling from A to B. But if you’re lingering in an area with one or more beacon devices broadcasting, things could get annoying very fast.
Whereas Royaltie and Asirvia have concentrated their beacon offering on single devices (the equivalent of Genusity BB), Genusity offers a bit more a range.
These options provide versatility for end users, which is always good for the consumer and gives Genusity an edge.
Price wise Genusity seems competitive, which means retail should, in theory, be viable.
Alexa’s Royaltie and Asirvia website traffic estimates have gone into decline over the last month or so. It’ll be interesting to see whether this is an evening out after launch hype, or whether bluetooh beacon marketing and MLM is/was little more than a passing fad.
If so, Genusity might be too late to game (Royaltie and Asirvia’s Bluetooth offering popped up on my radar in the second quarter of 2017).
Another common concern to watch out for is affiliate’s being the primary purchasers of the beacons, which are then used to market Genusity itself.
One or two beacons might be fine, but if your upline is buying beacons and keeping them active solely to market Genusity’s MLM opportunity, with their downline doing the same, potential pyramid scheme concerns arise.
The MLM history of Randy Thomas and Tim Sebert would normally be of concern, however Genusity does appear to have a genuine push for retail sales.
Genusity affiliate rank requirements are a great example of this, with affiliates always required to have more retail customers over recruited affiliates.
One final bit of info we don’t have with Genusity is who is the manufacturer of their beacons. This makes source price comparison impossible.
With commissions as high as 45% on fees paid, there’s a chance Genusity’s markup is too high compared to what’s available outside of the MLM space.
A search on Alibaba for “bluetooth beacon” for example, returns 13,948 results starting at $1 USD.
These devices are readily available from manufacturers for much cheaper, so keep that in mind when sussing out price comparisons.
Update 21st July 2022 – Genusity is now a five-tier matrix Ponzi cycler.
Lesson to learn for anyone (who am i kidding? Everyone has a mobile device these days) with a phone.
Make sure your bluetooth is off until you actually use it. 🙂
That basically makes these cheap, tacky devices obsolete.
What a load of cheap China fake crap.
Is it just me or does the Guy in the marketing video of Genusity bear a striking resemblance to the guy in the GlobalMoneyline marketing video?
Hello, I’m Tim Sebert, CEO of Genusity.
Please get your facts straight…. 10XRecruiter does not have a pay plan… it paid a direct “referral fee” on personal referrals” therefore, how can it be a “Pyramid Scheme”.
It never promised an income as it was nothing more than a training platform that taught people how to advertise any business both offline and online… and rewarded people for referring others to promote it….
as far as my credibility or my partner’s credibility, we have always kept our names clean. Remember, “documentation beats conversation”.
Our compensation plan is built around retailing of the product. You need to research the percentages of android phones that have their bluetooth enabled… I believe it will shock you!
Anyways, I love what you do except when you report “fake news”, otherwise you don’t get the facts… then, you do a terrible disservice to an ever growing industry of owners and associates who are trying to build a legitimate business.
The original 10x Recruiter compensation plan paid out on three levels. Please don’t try to rewrite history.
Right, otherwise known in MLM as a “pyramid scheme” – which 10x Recruiter was.
Oz, you must be confused as we have NEVER paid more than a personal referral…. anyone can check it out… (Ozedit: Offtopic derail attempts removed)
I’m only going to say this once:
I couldn’t give a shit what the 10x Recruiter website says today. When I reviewed 10x Recruiter in May, 2016 it had a three-tier pyramid recruitment compensation plan.
I don’t publish reviews unless I have a copy of the company’s compensation plan in front of me.
How quickly you changed the compensation plan after the review was published I couldn’t care less – but do not come on here misrepresenting what 10x Recruiter was at the time.
I’m only going to say this one more time: “Documentation Beats Conversation”!
Our site never changed!
(Ozedit: Offtopic derail attempts removed)
This wasn’t the easiest to find, but here’s documented proof of 10x Recruiter’s original business model.
What you’re looking at below is a 10x Recruiter marketing the opportunity as of May 2nd, 2016:
That’s before I wrote my review and shortly after 10x Recruiter’s launch. And now that I’ve proven you’re full of shit, apology or spam-bin.
And I sincerely hope you’re running Genusity with more integrity than you’ve displayed here in your comments.
Not sure why we are even talking about 10x Recruiter but our Official Launch date was July 11th, 2016. It was nothing more than a site to help others promote their business. It was no different than Click Funnels or any other Landing Page site.
It had a 1 level Affiliate payout just like a lot of companies have… Such as Walmart, they have an affiliate program, I suppose they are a pyramid, and don’t forget Amazon which has an affiliate program.
Here is a copy cached online of our grand opening: web.archive.org/web/20160711235806/http://10xrecruiter.com:80/
What you will find if you go back to June is a comp plan that pays 3 levels deep. That was before we opened and we decided to go with 1 level only because we were a tool, not a money making company.
The important thing here is we opened and operated with a 1 level affiliate program. So we accept your apology Oz!
But we would like you to take the word “pyramid” from your description of 10X World. Since I have now proven it was not, what you are saying is slander and that’s illegal.
I hope you allow me my freedom of speech and don’t edit this post.
Like I told Tim, whatever you relaunched with after the original plan flopped isn’t my concern. BehindMLM’s 10x Recruiter review is clearly date-stamped, and that’s the pyramid scheme business model you launched with at the time.
Affiliate’s running around promoting the opportunity with referral links? Yeah, 10x Recruiter had already launched by May.
And here’s a snippet from the 10x Recruiter Facebook page, dated 30 April, 2016:
Launched in July, 2016 my ass. You launched a pyramid scheme and regretted it. Changed the comp plan a few months later and now you’re trying to rewrite history.
Man up and acknowledge the facts, both of you. You’re grown-ass men and this is embarrassing.
What you found on Facebook was the pre-launch. The site was not even available then, it was just a signup form.
I know when we launched, I was there lol. I don’t care when you think we launched, I know it was July 11th, 2016. I also know we launched with a 1 level affiliate program.
I can even prove the first payment we took was at 11:37am on July 11th, 2016. And everyone knows you can’t take PayPal if you are more than 1 level deep, and we were PayPal approved.
But again, this post is about Genusity. Genusity is an awesome opportunity for anyone to help their business advertise and for anyone that want’s to make extra money to do so.
I don’t know why we are even fighting this fight lol. (Ozedit: Offtopic derail attempts removed)
April/May 2016 – 10x Recruiter launches with pyramid scheme compensation plan.
Early May 2016 – BehindMLM reviews 10x Recruiter and correctly identifies it as a pyramid scheme.
July 2016 – 10x Recruiter relaunches with some other comp plan.
November 2017 – Tim Sebert denies 10x Recruiter ever had a pyramid compensation plan. Randy Thomas then appears and pulls the “prelaunch” card.
If people were “getting started” as far back as April and affiliates are running around the internet signing people up based on the pyramid comp plan, you’ve launched.
Tim brought it up (comment #4).
OZ, We did not open with a 3 level pay-out…you have some kind of “chip” on your shoulder as you have clearly shown by your vile attitude… we have the proof, you have nothing… we can prove what and when we open… we have documentation, you have nothing but some text that you created… where is a hyper link that we can go to that will show that “OZ-Created” pay plan?
(Ozedit: Offtopic derail attempt removed)
You want me to provide you with a link to the 10x Recruiter compensation plan, when you’ve had since July 2016 to delete the evidence?
Right. I’ve provided you with evidence 10x Recruiter was being promoted as early as April 2016. I’ve also provided evidence of 10x Recruiter affiliates promoting the opportunity with the pyramid scheme compensation plan in May, 2016.
BehindMLM’s 10x Recruiter review was published on May 7th, 2016, based on 10x Recruiter’s then pyramid scheme compensation plan. What you did or didn’t do after May 7th, 2016 does not change these facts.
Unless you want to acknowledge the facts, we’re done here. Anything further on 10x Recruiter pertaining to after May 7th, 2016 will be marked as offtopic spam.
So you deny it all that you had the plan at all that OZ posted and now you want a link to the same plan you deny.
You really pushing the limits.
Either you had it or not – at this point you looking more guilty than innocent.
The interesting thing here is
Can either of you get your story straight.
IF people can lie about this what other lies will come up.
Clearly Oz has his story with Validation. Randy and Tim need to get in a room together to get their current Lies on the same page as well as their future Hood Winks!!
Just a couple Scoundrels trying to Milk Broke People…. typical!!!!!
Anyone that reads this, go ahead and believe OZ and the 2 people over me, the owner who was there. I know when I opened 10X Recruiter. It was July 11th. So you can believe OZ or me, either way it does not matter.
This is now being turned over to our Lawyer. You see, OZ has now broken all kinds of laws. He not only is slandering us but because of all the comments he has made, now his “Fair Use” of our pictures, logo and images from our site is no longer Fair Use. So now he has broken international Copyright laws.
And don’t think that because you are not in the USA OZ that helps you. Our lawyer is an international law firm. They have a firm in your country as well that will be contacting you.
No need to post this comment, this was for you OZ to let you know what’s next 🙂
@Randy
If I may, I’ll save you some time.
Here’s what I’ll present in court if it ever came to that:
As I quoted previously, here’s a Facebook post from a 10x Recruiter affiliate acknowledging the company is open for business as of April, 2016:
Here’s 10x Recruiter affiliate claiming he’s “made a sale” in June, 2016:
And here’s a bunch of 10x Recruiter affiliates providing evidence they were paid commissions well before July 11th, 2016.
10x Recruiter boasts about making $25 on June 9th, 2016:
10x Recruiter affiliate boasts about being “receiving $$$” on June 9th, 2016:
10x Recruiter affiliate confirming PayPal payment on June 9th, 2016. Randy Thomas liked the comment:
PayPal commission paid to affiliate from 10x Recruiter dated June 9th, 2016:
And this one’s probably my favorite. It’s a PayPal stub from 10x Recruiter for an “Affiliate Payment For April 2016“:
But please, keep denying 10x Recruiter didn’t launch till July 11th and nobody was getting paid.
I don’t know how you think Fair Use is applied but I suggest you take a refresher course.
Clearly, you, Randy, are not working with all the facts. Tsk, tsk, tsk. You are supposed to make sure there are no counter-punches possible BEFORE you drop vague threats.
Instead of looking smug, you now look like a deer caught in headlights.
All faked by you OZ. But (Ozedit: Faked? Fuck off mate, you’re done.)
I really don’t have time for lying scumbags.

Anyone looking into joining Genusity would do well to make of how management have conducted themselves in the comments of this review.
This Randy is a real sharp one eh? What a clown… any idiot can go see the info you posted faked??
hahaha… but I digress.. these guys usually deal with idiots, so I guess it gets ingrained that people will just accept what you will say. LOL
Randy Thomas of Host Hoot? Plenty of material on him online, including a Rip Off Report or two. I’m in complete agreement with you Gary that he isn’t the sharpest stick of butter in the freezer.
LOL
Pretty amazing that a business that isn’t open for business has testimonials two months before these guys claim it was open.
web.archive.org/web/20160506001027/http://10xrecruiter.com:80/#testimonials
Well that was quick, what… less than an hour and a half?
Delete, delete, delete!
Anyway, the evidence is there in comment #19 for everyone to see.
Hmmn, May 6, 2016, Eh ???
Your calendar in the US must be different than ours.
Here, May 6 comes BEFORE July 11 and not after.
Weird.
Haha, I enjoyed this conversation, Thanks Oz for the good work.
The fact that it disappeared after it was pointed out here… hahahahaha. 🙂
10x-Recruiter was Pre-Launched May 1st, and Launched on June 24, 2017. Sometimes during a Pre-Launch, or even Right After a Launch, it’s not surprising for payment plans to change, so ‘Splitting Hairs’ on the Comp-Plan is really LAME!
It was a Great Lead-Capture Page Program, that Offered people a little-coin for trying it out. What is the PROBLEM with that?..
I found this Review to be very HARSH on Tim and Randy. These Guys Go the EXTRA-MILE to Simplify Internet Marketing, and Give Newbies the tools they need to compete with the Big Boys!
This NEW program is the SAME-THING! The users are getting for Pennies, tools, that give the average Mom and Pop, a Highly-Technical-Way to Advertise, thus COMPETING WITH the Big-Boys!
Also, for members who attended their ‘Training Webinars’, they are nothing but a CLASS-ACT !! They Take their time, and treat EVERYBODY FAIRLY, and with Respect!
Your Evidence AGAINST them were Testimonials from “HAPPY USERS”.. “ECSTATIC” with their program (Ozedit: Offtopic waffle removed)
I’m not so sure that Advertising is DEAD, but this is Definitely Worth a Look.
well, if tim and randy hadn’t run around lying about when and how genusity launched as a pyramid scheme, maybe oz would have given them flowers and a little kiss.
Wasn’t a Pyramid Scheme, PRODUCT was Marketing Tools, Namely.. (Pre-Made-Professional-Splash-Pages).
Go and Have One Professionally Designed and Hosted for you then TELL ME how much that cost is, and then.. tell me you Don’t have a PRODUCT!
Not to Mention the FREE Sales Training for ANY PRODUCT YOU WANT TO MARKET WITH IT, not just Their-Own.. You are so off-base with this, that it is Laughable..
Having a product doesn’t legitimize recruitment commissions in MLM.
Paying people to recruit at the expense of retail sales = MLM pyramid scheme. Just ask Vemma and Herbalife.
There is such a thing as a “product” based pyramid scheme. Most often, the “product” is there for show…. not sell OUTSIDE the scheme. You’re welcome.
Your BLOG Here is called ‘Behind’ MLM, which implies that you KNOW what you are talking about.
I’ve Known Tim for a Long-Time, and there is no other person that I would TRUST, in an Online Business, more than Tim. I haven’t Known Randy, but I ‘TRUST’ that Tim wouldn’t Partner-up with Him, Unless He Was a ‘Great-Guy’, and could walk his talk.
Tim HAS BEEN in the Business for Most of His Life, and Goes ‘Way-Back’ with GDI. He was Constantly at the TOP of the GDI LEADER-BOARD, which Isn’t Very Easy.
Therefore, Tim KNOWS his Business, and I’m sure that Randy does too.. Like Tim Said in the Beginning, I respect what you guys do, and everybody has a RIGHT to their Opinion, I just think in this case, with these Guys… that you are WAY-Off.. this Business Model has been around Since AM-WAY in the 50’s, 60’s, or whatever.. and THEY are Still Going Strong So I don’t think it will change, or change very-much.
Some will Succeed, and Some will Fail, just like ANY Business. No Matter What, prospects need to look before they LEAP, at ALL-TIMES. Cheers! Todd, and have a Great HOLIDAY Season 🙂
I really don’t see what you having a hard-on for Tim has to do with anything.
Kindly cease carrying on like a porkchop if you have nothing relevant to contribute.
Your POST Here should be called ‘Ode To Tim’…
This. Was. Epic.
Thank you.
Here is the hype garbage that this dynamic duo send out to the suckers they are trying to con into joining their latest endeavor!
New company? Wait, what… so RIP Genusity? Or are they just pretending Genusity just launched?
Maybe 10x Recruiter is finally out of pre-pre-pre-alpha-launch.
That company gives all network marketing companies a bad name.
Seth Fraser has ended his hiatus to come back into the field and promote Genusity.
They aren’t on the company website yet but Genusity has a new line of CBD products in addition to their magnetic eyelashes and bluetooth beacons.
Genusity always sold garbage which makes it a perfect marriage for someone with a professional background like Seth Fraser.
So they are selling power saving devices for $300 to $400 a pop now.
The question is do they really work and what is the real cost to buy one?
What is GenEnergy
GenEnergy can optimize electrical systems in residential homes and commercial business, and produce a savings of up to 45% on Electric Bills.
GenEnergy is an energy saving device designed to optimize electrical motors and reduce amperage and heat generation which results in a lower consumption of electricity.
This technology reclaims, stores and supplies power to inductive motors and loads. All induction loads consume two kinds of power:
1) Reactive Power, and
2) Working Power of KW. Working power performs the application or the work of the motor.
The only function of reactive power is to develop an electromagnetic field to ground induction winding’s (EMF’s).
