On June 23rd a few hundred OnPassive regulars jumped on a Zoom stream and celebrated Ash Mufareh closing Ofounders sign ups.

The next day Mufareh appeared on a follow up stream. He told Ofounders that OnPassive had over-delivered and they should be grateful.

And then he left.

If it sounds like I’m condensing things, I’m not. There’s literally nothing much else to report on.

I was tipped off to Mufareh closing OnPassive signups by Alanda from The Recovering Hunbot.

Alanda covered the follow up stream with The Queen of Spade in a reaction stream, uploaded June 24th.

I vaguely recall the prospect of OnPassive stopping recruitment being a thing a few years back. I did go looking for it in our comments but came up blank. It wasn’t covered in an article but I know the discussion is there buried somewhere in the comments.

Anyway, with recruitment closed no doubt those who shelled out $97 for a position (or multiple positions), are wondering what comes next.

All Mufareh had to say was not to worry;

We’re not going away, we’re going ahead. We’re going forward, we’re going higher.

We’re not asking for additional effort or pay from the founders.

He clarified that while OnPassive Ofounders can apply for a refund (not sure if that actually works for those who want out), they’re prohibited from selling their positions.

People who signed up as OnPassive Ofounders but haven’t paid the sign up fee are also still able to do so. Mufareh did represent unpaid accounts would be deleted at some point but didn’t provide a deadline.

Funnily enough you can still visit the Ofounders website and sign up. Go figure.

As of June 16th, OnPassive boasted of having 1,372,000 Ofounders signups. At $97 a pop, this comes to $133 million.

Three and a half years into OnPassive and the only people who’ve made any money are Ash Mufareh and his Indian staff.

Beyond documenting OnPassive never actually launching, I don’t have much interest in the scheme at this point. If you look at who shows up to OnPassive webinars, it’s mostly an assortment of middle-aged people who don’t seem very technically inclined.

I don’t mean any of that as an insult, it’s just kinda sad to watch play out.

I mean take a step back from the idolzation of Mufareh for a second and just think about it. We”re on the tail-end of arguably the biggest boom companies like Zoom have ever experienced.

Companies with clone “me too” Zoom like products should at least have exhibited some growth no? Instead we’ve had OnPassive spam Dubai for a few days and hold endless marketing webinars. Oh and local offices that nobody actually uses.

If OnPassive wasn’t just a cruel joke played out on victims who haven’t realized it yet, they’ve absolutely missed the biggest explosion in their product niche ever seen.

Even today you still can’t actually purchase anything from OnPassive’s website. OnPassive marketing webinars are still being held over Zoom and being rebroadcast to YouTube!

It truly boggles the mind how far down the garden path some of the people in OnPassive have been lead.

The original OnPassive marketing promise four years ago was what, AI that’d somehow build a business for you? Yeah that never happened, did it.

For all the talk of AI you still had Mufareh, from his laptop, micromanaging every second of OnPassive’s Dubai “launch but not really” April event.

Where is it? Bugger the marketing, demonstrate the bloody products already! Let customers actually buy them. Hell, let Ofounders actually use them to prove this isn’t all just conceptual nonsense.

And I mean use them in practice. Not some one-off carefully staged demo.

Either OnPassive’s “me too” suite is ready to go or it isn’t. And if you’re advertising vaporware products and services on OnPassive’s website that don’t actually exist, how are none of the Ofounders not realizing they’ve been had?

This far down the rabbit-hole do they even care?

I’m not expecting too much from the OnPassive camp with respect to future coverage. Mufareh will probably dial up the marketing a bit but I don’t see what’s supposed to keep the never-ending hype train going if people can’t sign anyone up.

At least by expanding the scam Ofounders had a sense of momentum disconnect from Mufareh’s broken promises, sorry “over delivering”.

Now there’s just what, more endless webinars to tune into? How long before Mufareh’s already exhausted “we’ve got more new products nobody can use just around the corner” hypnosis wears off?

You’ve scammed your millions Ash. Move to Dubai and just let it die. Or hell stay in the US if you want. The FTC haven’t shown any interest thus far.

Whatever you decide to do, put these people out of their misery already. Let them accept the loss and move on.
