OneCoin’s William Morro sentenced to one year probation
OneCoin money launderer William Morro has been sentenced to one year probation.
Morro’s sentence was handed down on October 18th, following a guilty plea entered in April 2024.
In addition to probation, Morro (right) was also fined $2000.
As per his indictment, Morro laundered around $41.2 million for OneCoin in 2016.
Morro knowingly execute[d] … a scheme … to defraud a financial institution … and to obtain moneys, funds, credits, assets, securities and other property … by means of false and fraudulent pretenses, representations and promises.
Morro worked with Gilbert Armenta and Mark Scott.
Armenta was sentenced to five years in prison in February 2023. Scott received a ten year prison sentence in January 2024.
Not sure what happened with this one. Was going through my case list and realized I hadn’t reported on it.
Absolutely wild, guy knowingly laundered millions
Gets a $2000 fine
And, no jail time!
*Mark Scott rage intensifies*
Morro must be very cooperative.
Maybe he didnt want to and he is innocent.
“Didn’t want to” isn’t a legal defence. And Morro already pled guilty.
Not much point pretending you didn’t do the thing when your co-conspirators have already been sentenced.
