Two OmegaPro victims have received partially suspended prison sentences in France.

As reported by Caroline Piquet in a January 31st paywalled article for Le Parisien;

A 26-year-old salesman has been sentenced to five years in prison, three of which were suspended, after beating up a man he accused of ruining him in the alleged OmegaPro pyramid scheme.

His henchman was sentenced to three years in prison, two of which were suspended.

Identified only by their initials, Bechir E. stood accused of beating up Chadli M. after Chadli recruited him into OmegaPro.

BehindMLM has identified “Chadli M.” as Chadli Mekid, a prominent French OmegaPro promoter.

On November 2, Chadli M., 45, was not suspicious when a woman rang his doorbell, a stone’s throw from the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont (Paris, 19th arrondissement).

But two giants—200 kg between them—then burst into his home and demanded that their victim give them her access codes to her cryptocurrency account, where $300,000 was lying dormant.

As for what happened next, behind closed doors in the apartment, accounts differ. In court, Chadli M. claims to have been beaten, strangled, and stabbed twice in the calf.

The attack allegedly reopened a triple fracture in a leg, which he had just removed from the cast.

And ruptured the tendon in his left kneecap. Chadli then took advantage of a brief moment of inattention on the part of his attackers to crawl to his door. He allegedly “threw himself down the stairs” before screaming for help.

Bechir was assisted in the attack by Koiry S. At trial Koiry’s lawyer presented a medical certificate only noting a “small superficial cut”.

Béchir E., for his part, only acknowledges a few “slaps” and blows. He claims that his victim’s fracture reopened accidentally in a fall down the stairs.

He claims that Chadli M. accidentally cut his leg after pulling out a knife.

Bechir maintains he sought Chadli out after “losing everything” in OmegaPro.

OmegaPro was a Dubai MLM crypto Ponzi run by co-founders Dilawar Singh, Andreas Szakacs and Michael Shannon Sims.

Launched in late 2018 and pitching investors on a 200% ROI over 16 months, OmegaPro collapsed in late 2022.

Andreas Szakacs was arrested in Turkey in August 2024. Early reports confirmed Szakacs was being held at Maltepe prison but, five months on, his status is now unclear.

Mike Sims hasn’t been arrested but is facing multiple civil fraud lawsuits in the US related to the SAEG and The Traders Domain Ponzi schemes.

Dilawar Singh, last known to be hiding out in Spain, remains at large.

Last month an eight month preliminary investigation by France’s Central Office for the Suppression of Serious Financial Crime, was turned over to two magistrates for further investigation.
