Following negotiation with the DOJ, iComTech founder David Carmona has been ordered to pay $789,218 in restitution. A separate order has also set iComTech forfeiture at $3.7 million.

On January 28th the Southern District of New York court ordered Carmona pay $789,218.94 in restitution to iComTech victims.

iComTech was an MLM crypto Ponzi that launched in 2018. Following his arrest in 2022, Carmona pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in January 2024.

In October 2024, Carmona was sentenced to ten years in prison.

Carmona’s iComTech restitution order sees him being held jointly liable with co-conspirators Marco Ochoa, Moses Valdez, Juan Arellano, David Brend and Gustavo Rodriguez.

Moses Valdez’s and Juan Arellano’s status remains unclear following their respective arrests.

Separate proposed restitution orders for David Brend and Gustavo Rodriguez were filed on January 29th.

The court has given Brend and Rodriguez till February 10th to file a response, after which an determination order will be issued.

In parallel iComTech civil fraud proceedings, the CFTC secured default judgment against Carmona and his accomplices in November 2024.

As per the terms of the judgment, $1.09 million is to be paid in restitution plus a $1 million civil money penalty.
