GiveOpp Launch on July 4th a complete fizzer
Given the level of secrecy surrounding the GiveOpp business opportunity I wasn’t quite sure what to expect come launch date July 4th.
Up until now, unless you were willing to divulge personal information to a member of the company, specific information such as detailed information on company products and the compensation plan have remained tightly under wraps.
Amazingly July the 4th came and went and it would appear nothing’s changed.
The GiveOpp.com website has changed from a beta members only page to an updated members only login page. There’s still a complete lack of company information on the website.
Infact the only noticeable difference is the introduction of the ‘Be a Tom today’ graphic and slogan. What this means though is anyone’s guess.
A google search for ‘be a tom today’ returns no results. With several prominent members of GiveOpp known Scientologists, cynics would suggest the slogan is a tongue in cheek reference of Tom Cruise, a noted Scientologist himself.
GiveOpp’s Facebook account hasn’t published anything since June 30th and it’s a similar story over at the company’s Twitter account where the last tweet is dated June 22nd.
Anyone would think the GiveOpp launch never happened.
At this stage I’m not sure what exactly the company is playing. Is the lack of a launch or general information deliberate or is there something going on behind the scenes?
The ‘contact us directly before we give you any information’ policy GiveOpp have employed so far might have worked in prelaunch but maintaining this strategy probably won’t work in the long run.
The whole idea of marketing is to get your company name out there and expose it to as many people as possible. In an age of skepticism and people wanting to conduct their own research, requiring them to hand over personal information just to find out what the company is about seems to go against a successful business marketing model.
If GiveOpp can pull it off though more power to them, my money however is on this being entirely unintentional. For now though I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
As of yet I’m unaware of any announcement from GiveOpp even acknowledging that the company has officially launched.
I’m curious, too. Don Glanville is the Lindsay Lohan of multi level marketers, and you mix that with John and Shannon Lavenia’s greed and inherent dishonesty and you have the potential for a meltdown of Chernobyl proportions. John Lavenia’s a big drama queen, too – he’s fragile like a snowflake.
Don and John both have Napoleon Syndrome, too – and I think that physics dictates that two Napoleon’s can’t occupy the same space at the same time. Super stout Shannon can have a dwarf toss if she gets bored!
This might be more interesting than the Polaris Global debacle!
Ha Ha Ha, This is sooo funny, are you having a go at distributor’s because you are frustrated with your lack of knowledge OZ, not a whole lot on the company in your intro, same old, same old.
In this day and age of transparency, Web 2.0 culture, connectivity, open-source software, etc., why would anyone create a company where ZERO information is available unless you pay for it?
Do these guys not actually pay attention to how society is moving today?
This sort of thing might have worked well a few years ago but it seems to me that people today expect more information (not less) when they go shopping for a home business. Maybe I’m wrong.
How was I having a go at distributors and why would I be frustrated? Whether GiveOpp fails or succeeds is irrelevant to me beyond it being an interesting case study on whether launching an MLM in complete secrecy can work or not.
As for the lack of information, that’s their design and time will tell whether it was a smart move or not. I could just sign up with bogus details and play the part till I get access to information but I can’t be bothered playing their games.
GiveOpp’s Facebook post June 30th:
And today:
lol – the official launch just turned into a pre-launch…
dreamers indeed.
Delwyn McKenzie – have the NZ Internal Affairs found you yet? – they been asking lots of questions.
Giveopp’s facebook site sickens me. To have scammers like Shannon Lavenia trying to associate themselves with somebody like Randy Pausch is despicable. Pausch was a true humanitarian whose life and too early death are an inspiration. Lavenia is a parasitic $cientologist……end of story…
absolutely
and why on earth would anyone give these poeple money for nothing
There they are, Frank, Roger and Boris, every time, same people, same comments, Roger dislikes this Delwyn character, Frank and the Lavenia couple, and good ol Boris chips in with whatever he fancies, OZ, I think you should employ them, they are there for you every time, in every chat.
From where I am sitting guys, Delwyn and the Lavenias are distributors, correct? and you guys dislike them from a previous business opportunity, correct? , An opportunity that you were involved in, correct? So, you must have been promoting that opportunity too, correct?, you did not like it, and you left, correct? and you do something else now?
It strikes me that the 3 of them chose to move on too, maybe, just maybe, they felt the same way as you about the previous business. If the 3 of them were not distributors with GiveOpp, then there would not even be a chat going on here.
Also when you look at other business opportunities on here, it is exactly the same in general, it seems you are highlighting ex distributors from Polaris that have moved on to another business.
Reading the comments on your previous businesses thread, people are still having issues there, even when you, and the other 3 have moved on, does that not tell you something? and I would suspect that ex distributors are in many different opportunities too.
OZ, are you only putting MLM companies on this blog that have ex Polaris distributors in them?
Sorry to shatter your delusions “What a load of rubbish”, but I have never been involved in any MLM business. My interest in them was sparked by seeing an ad on Foxtel for UXL, Rachel Oliver’s company and realising how intrinsically cultic it seemed.
I have had an interest in and contact with $cientology for many years…. since 1986 in fact, and this advertisment really struck me as something from their stable. I have seen the damage that $cientology and other cults do to people, and LLI/PMG has done the same.
I am a very successful businessman. I have the multiple six figure income. When I fly, I go first or business. I live in Sydney’s sexiest suburb in a lovely house, so all in all I live the life that the liars pretend to live. So I have no axe to grind except for the fact that I hate the cults and rip off merchants.
They’re called readers. If people fidn the information useful they’re going to come back.
As you mentioned, ex distributors of Polaris are ‘in many different opportunities‘. Eventually BehindMLM will cover as many MLM companies as I find the time to write about.
There’s a lot of research that goes into writing about a company you aren’t yet familiar with. It all takes time.
McKenzie, the Lavenia etc are career predators. I know them and a lot of the others personally that are involved in these things. I did get sucked into one of them – packaged as a “personal development” company.
I too am independantly successful – we have another business that is generating good income – I have my own aircraft but dont travel first class.
Like Boris is just hate to see poeple being sucked into this sort of thing and will continue to contribute to this blogg in the attempt to disward poeple from buying their lies.
I am experienced so have something to offer.
Great work Oz – Im sure you have saved a lot of poeple from losing a lot of money
Left a couple of comments on GiveOpp Facebook page and yes – they were deleted – nothing quite like a balanced perspective – not.
Control what the victums are exposed to – feed them shit and “excitment” and wamo – you have a cult!
They did this with Polaris also before we shut them down.
All glory to this forum – Great Job OZ.
It is really ridiculous to see the same 10-20 people “liking” each other’s comments. Incest at its best. They must be reading Michael Berry’s blogs on how to post and like each other as if that will make it more viral. Seriously!
yes they are a bunch of deluded idiots
“im so excited” – my arse – this is just rubbish – its part of the sales pitch
I cant stand it
So I checked this business out as it had great appeal to me that you’re doing something for a great cause all while building wealth for you’re own financial freedom.
Well, no info until you fill out an application form and pay a $59.95 fee. You’ll then get access to the compensation pay plan video’s and to get started they then want you to pay a $49.95 distributor fee, and a $2999.95 fee to enroll in some kind of travel club (I forget what it was called), you become a philanthropist (one of the 9 or so levels of rank in giveopp), and some proceeds goes to a good cause in the world. I wonder if they tell you where it goes and how much is donated?
I also asked for further details on the levels or ranks and this john lavenia guy didn’t know anything but yet he’s been in this business for 2-3 months?
I told this guy named kieron atkinson that $3,000 is just way to much for me at the moment and would like my application form fee to go ahead and be refunded as it was stated if you decide not to go forward. so he said this: How would you like to go ahead with the application fee?
“The limitation there is that if you get it refunded you are then prevented from applying again for 6 months. Do you wish to exclude yourself for that long? My feeling is that you will be calling me sooner rather than later with a clear way of moving forward”.
I felt like that was a bulling sales tactic to sucker me into spending the $3000. So I just said that’s unfortunate that’s the way this new company operates.
pure and unadulterated scam
Atkinson, Lavenia, McKenzie – all these have been around the block and know exactly how to fool poeple into emtying their wallets and devoiding themselves of any responsibility – as Boris has pointed out – you eventaul failure, which is guaranteed, will be justified as you lack of taking “personal responsibility’.
This is how scientologists work – all under the delusion of “helping the race and the planet”
I too almost got suckered into this but thank god I bailed at just the right time. I filled out the application which said had to be reviewed and I would be notified within 24 hours(I believe) but immediately I was a member and right along with the $59.95 application fee, another $49.95 came out for a monthly fee- which I had no idea about.
I declined the $3000 package but Lavenia and those under him tried to convince me to borrow. I’m a single mother and live paycheck to paycheck….I was so pissed. I heard lie after lie from the three individuals I spoke to (Lavenia included).
One of the members told me he and his wife were making 6 figure incomes but didn’t have the $3000 at first either and had to borrow $1000 from three diff. people. I know when people lie and this lie came flying at me with a huge “warning” sign.
Thank God I canceled within the three days of signing up!
Perhaps I’m wrong and this is a good cause and there’s money for the little people to be made but my gut tells me otherwise. I just hope these posts save other people from being screwed!
heres an interesting pix from the Giveopp owner’s Facebook page:

Here’s another one with Don Glanville

look quick before they take them down. People can party if they want but it doesn’t look much like the kind of pictures that go along with Giveopp’s “global awareness”. Looks like a bunch of drunkards hanging out with crack whores.
Some of these guys are on Fcebook, posting there little positive quotes for the day with the bruddas and sistas Hi 5 ing each other, one said the other day “i love getting commission cheques ” sounds all to desperate for me .
would love to see an expose on these guys , its a wonder the media haven’t looked into it , would make great tv
@shell – good on you for smelling the rat and getting out.
Thanks for the links, John. And thank you Fred and Shell for sharing your experiences. So sorry you had to experience that. Roger almost had it right earlier when he said “unadulterated.” I think he meant “adultery.”
It is sickening to hear Lavenias and Atkinson preying upon the week and using guilt tactics to bring people into their scam. With their Liberty League testimonies. Nobody’s made six figures in Give Opp. Some leadership.
Perhaps someone can start taping these conversations and they can be broadcast here. Makes Mel Gibson seem like a nice guy.
Like the $49.95 to become an associate of Liberty League, then the pressure to purchase Beyond freedom then Liberty and Summit tickets. Don’t fall for Kieron and Kristi’s convincing ways’ I went against my gut instinct to take a chance once in my life and how I so regret it……
K&K, the Lavenias and the like will be in total denial about selling, its about “stepping up and showing leadership” as they have done….Ruthless heartless scam artists more like it. My advice Freddy, do your due diligence and then run like the wind…
Here are some “creative financing” ideas from a former Liberty League advisor Kevin Knecht who actually teamed up with Kieron and Kristi for a while, the Atkinsons and Knechts’ were very chummy for a while, K&K said they were moving to Arizona. After a while the team split up.
http://web.me.com/melissaknecht/Team_Synergy/Creative_Financing.html
This list was emailed to all in the team to convince more people to step up, the ones who had not were looked down apon. I got an AMEX card from a shopping centre stall for several thousand dollars…I was such a fool to listen to this rubbish.
Good on you Shell, your experience is valuable for others to look at and make up there own minds before stepping in. That is the great thing about this site, the truth is being exposed and the scam artists are squirming…
@Freddy
This should be the first alarm bell that goes off. Why would any company want me to commit financially and hand over my personal information (which I presume they verify in some way), before simply providing me with informaton about the business?
Are these videos hosted internally or are they public access? I’m assuming internal but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
Amusing aside; there are eight known levels in Scientology…
I don’t get this clause? It seems to exist solely for GiveOpp associates to put pressure on people via possible exclusion. What other benefit does GiveOpp gain by barring prospective signups for six months?
Thanks for sharing your experience Freddy.
Thanks guys! Yes, I was also warned that I wouldn’t be able to join again for another 6 months and to reply back to verify I certainly did want to cancel.
Makes me sick thinking of these con artists. Their tactic is to get you so excited about the possibilities which temporarily blind us into doing something that we regret. The red flags are knocked down with our excitement.
My final decision was made after doing some digging and boy am I glad for this site….it saved me lots of money.
all this is so familiar to us that have experienced these poeple. It looks very much scientology is alove and well in GiveOpp .
@oz – the 6 month thing was there also in liberty league. I think its a ply to give some sort of “credability” – to heighten the sense of urgency. Its just another nasty little conartist trick to suck the money. Dirty low down scammy bastards that they are …
Shell- I’d also be keeping a close watch on your credit card if they have those details. Another of the common scams for people like this is to continue to bill you and/or overcharge.
Vince- You betcha I’m keeping a close eye on my credit card. Crooks!
Ha Ha, that is f**king rich coming from this blog, check out the same guys posting on here, Roger the Bloody Scientology dodger, who has been in Scientology since 1986, every one who posts is a Scientologist to him, funny as f**K, he lost $30k with Polaris, then $60k with Polaris, and anyone who was ever with Polaris is the scum of the earth to him, and a Scientologist.
Go and chill in your plane Roger, 30% of all posts are from you, Oz needs to hire you, get some of that money back.
For someone who claims to not be involved in MLM that’s quite the personal response there.
This blog nails it right on the head. All of these used car salesmen go from “opportunity” to “opportunity”, and do nothing but recruit new suckers.
All of these people were with Don Glanville when he did the Reverse Funnel System, which had Global Resorts Network as the $3000 product sale. It seems that GiveOpp is now the “cover” with Global Resorts Network sales as the main goal once again.
So I am in scoentology but bag it ? Doesnt make sense.
I didnt loss anything to Polaris meathead. It was Delwyn McKenzie who sucked me in Liberty League. Is it you delwyn? – seems like your dumb blonde ravings.
Yeap I cant stand scientologist after having a very breif negative contact yrs ago in Sydney and of course again with Liberty League
I guess you have it all figured out. I mean I thought I was the man up in the clouds but I guess their are no people out there anymore that work their business and all they do is just scam.
And I guess these people can’t have personal lives either. …And I will hand the reigns over to you since your judging people you obviously know nothing about by calling them “crack whores”.
Where can I sign up to get the all-knowing monthly subscription to “The Truth” by the average John.
I hate being a critic of someone’s grammar or spelling but the previous comment by Don Glanville or one of his cronies exposes part of the problem with the whole MLM industry.
The dearth of formal educational qualifications among the top leaders is extraordinary. From what I can see, most of the top people seem to have just about finished high school. While this in itself is no barrier to a successful life, the fact that they try to be mentors, teachers and role models should be a cause for concern for those coming into their businesses.
Tattoos, fake tans, cigarettes dangling from the corners of the mouth, all compounded by the undeserved arrogance of the “fake it til you make it” philosophy should make you run a mile from their opportunities.
haha. Looks like we have a language teacher on board fellas. Betta wotch yerr speling eeek!
It’s funny that Shannon’s Napoleon complex was mentioned earlier because my GiveOpp story was:
Shannon and I had the same birthday, 1 decade apart, and both had teaching careers. Cute.
Well, she didn’t give a rip. 🙂 Once I was cancelling my membership, which was darn near impossible (and continues to haunt my bank account to this day), I had Shannon on the phone.
Why Shannon? I had to get one of these knuckleheads on Facebook to respond because the “company” sure wasn’t!
Here’s her “philanthropic” responses to my need to cease involvement with GiveOpp…paraphrasing here:
Well, Carrie, I don’t know any other teachers who have become millionaires. John and I…blah, blah, blah…
Unwittingly, she just revealed the truth to me that she does NOT expect average folks to succeed with GiveOpp. They know EXACTLY what they are up to.
So…I’m a little older, a little wiser, and incredibly grateful that I learned what to watch out for.
Yes Carrie – same old same old fat arsed american con artist. They have the heads so far their owns butts they have lost sight of any reality.
They are career predatory leachs – the same as any of them eg. Delwyn McKenzie their freind. Beware all of this deceptive con.
