Purvii Review: Not an MLM company for perverts
Purvii, pronounced “pure-vee”, operates in the nutritional supplements MLM niche.
The company is based out of Indiana and is headed up by Tony and Jenny Lusby.
On LinkedIn, Jenny Lusby (right with Tony) cites herself as Purvii’s CEO and founder.
On FaceBook Tony Lusby also cites himself as Purvii’s CEO and founder. For some reason these roles are not acknowledged on Purvii’s website.
Derrick DeSilva also features in the “about us” section of Purvii’s website. DeSilva’s role within Purvii is also not disclosed.
Between the two of them the Lusby’s have promoted Monavie, FGXpress and Zilis. In Zilis the Lusby’s reached Black Diamond Elite, one of the highest distributor ranks.
When the Lusby’s left Zilis is unclear but it seems to have been around late 2021, possibly early 2022. Why the Lusby’s left their top distributor position in Zilis is also unclear.
After the Lusbys left Zilis, Tony seems to have succumbed to COVID-19 social media brainrot:
After Tony recovered Purvii’s website domain was registered on March 29th, 2023. Purvii would go on to launch a few months later in June 2023.

Purvii’s Products
Purvii markets a mobile phone app that it then uses to recommend its range of nutritional supplements.
Purscan is a mobile app Purvii claims provides a “window to your health”. Purscan purportedly does this by shining a light through human skin.
Human skin is translucent (allowing light, but not detailed shapes to pass through or semitransparent).
Light and its respective wavelengths are reflected at different layers below the skin and can be used to reveal blood flow information in the human face.
This information is captured by and contained in conventional video images. TOI™ extracts this information and sends it securely up to the cloud to be processed by a cloud-based Affective AI engine.
“TOI” stands for transdermal optical imaging. The basic concept is your phone’s video camera is used to measure light reflected from your face.
Through Purscan, Purvii claims consumers can measure heart rate, blood pressure, stress levels, risk factors for a number of diseases and blood glucose levels.
PÛRSCAN* provides screening for a robust pipeline of measurable conditions including heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure, HRV, cardiac workload, stress, BMI, CVD, diabetes risk, hypercholesterolemia risk, triglyceridemia risk, hypertension risk, and blood glucose.
Purvii claims Purscan’s results offer “medical grade accuracy”… but with an asterisk.
No explanation for the asterisk is provided on the Purscan page on Purvii’s website.
In the shop section of Purvii’s website the company states;
PŪRSCAN is a screening tool not a diagnostic tool.
PŪRSCAN does not replace your medical provider and does not claim to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any disease.
Access to Purvii is $39.95 a month. This provides access to 60 scans each month.
Purvii’s supplement range is designed to take advantage of deficiencies found using Purscan.
- Glucose – “a proprietary blend of key ingredients to help support healthy blood sugar levels”, retails at $64.95 for a 2 fl. oz. bottle (60 ml)
- Mood – “formulated with key ingredients known to support a calm state of mind and a positive mood”, retails at $69.95 for a 2 fl. oz. bottle (60 ml)
- D3K2 – “immune support”, retails at $49.95 for a 2 fl. oz. bottle (60 ml)
- Flow – “a proprietary blend of key ingredients specifically known for their benefits to supporting healthy blood flow, energy and cardiovascular health”, retails at $64.95 for a 2 fl. oz. bottle (60 ml)
- Probiotic – “supports healthy digestion and immunity”, retails at $49.95 for a bottle of 60 capsules
Purvii’s supplements are also available in a $259 bundle pack.
Purvii’s Compensation Plan
Purvii’s compensation plan pays on retail customer sales and recruitment of distributors.

PV stands for “Personal Volume”. PV is sales volume generated via retail customer sales and a Purvii distributor’s own orders.
Note that Purvii penalizes distributors for making retail sales by only counting 50% of generated retail PV towards rank qualification.
GV stands for “Group Volume”. GV is the sum total of a Purvii distributors PV and that of their downline.
Note that from Bronze, no more than 80% of required GV can come from any one recruitment leg.
After that between Bronze and Emerald no more than 50% of remaining required GV can come from any one recruitment leg. For Diamond and higher this is reduced to 40%.
Retail Commissions
Purvii distributors earn a 30% commission on sales volume generated by retail customer orders.
This amount is reduced to 20% for retail customers on autoship (wholesale customers).
Recruitment Commissions
Purvii distributors earn commissions when they recruit distributors:
- recruit a Partner Enroll Pack distributor and earn $25
- recruit a Builder Enroll Pack distributor and earn $50
- recruit a Founder Enroll Pack distributor and earn $100
A residual recruitment commission is paid out when personally recruited distributors recruit two distributors (level 2):
- two Partner Enroll Pack distributors recruited on level 2 = $10 commission
- two Builder Enroll Pack distributors recruited on level 2 = $15 commission
- two Founder Enroll Pack distributors recruited on level 2 = $20 commission
Residual Commissions
Purvii pays residual commissions via a binary compensation structure.
A binary compensation structure places an distributor at the top of a binary team, split into two sides (left and right):
The first level of the binary team houses two positions. The second level of the binary team is generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).
Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing twice as many positions as the previous level.
Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of distributors. Note there is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow.
At the end of each week Purvii tallies up new sales volume across both legs of the binary team.
Distributors are paid a percentage of sales volume generated on their weaker binar team side, capped based on rank:
- Star ranked distributors earn a 10% residual commission rate, capped at $200 a week
- Star 500 ranked distributors earn a 10% residual commission rate, capped at $300 a week
- Star 1000 ranked distributors earn a 10% residual commission rate, capped at $400 a week
- Bronze ranked distributors earn a 10% residual commission rate, capped at $500 a week
- Silver ranked distributors earn a 10% residual commission rate, capped at $700 a week
- Gold ranked distributors earn a 10% residual commission rate, capped at $1000 a week
- Ruby ranked distributors earn an 11% residual commission rate, capped at $1500 a week
- Emerald ranked distributors earn an 11% residual commission rate, capped at $2500 a week
- Diamond ranked distributors earn an 11% residual commission rate, capped at $5000 a week
- Double Diamond ranked distributors earn a 12% residual commission rate, capped at $10,000 a week
- Triple Diamond ranked distributors earn a 12% residual commission rate, capped at $15,000 a week
- Black Diamond ranked distributors earn a 12% residual commission rate, capped at $25,000 a week
Matching Bonus
Purvii pays a Matching Bonus on residual commissions earned by downline distributors down three levels of recruitment (unilevel):
- Gold ranked distributors earn a 15% match on level 1 (personally recruited distributors)
- Ruby ranked distributors earn a 15% match on level 1 and 10% on level 2
- Emerald and higher ranked distributors earn a 15% match on level 1, 10% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
Founder’s Club Bonus
Purvii takes 1% of company-wide sales volume and places it into the Founder’s Club Bonus pool.
Silver and higher ranked distributors earn a share in the Founder’s Club Bonus Pool:
- Silver through Ruby ranked distributors receive one share in the Founders Club Bonus pool
- Emerald ranked distributors receive two shares in the Founders Club Bonus pool
- Diamond and higher ranked distributors receive three shares in the Founders Club Bonus pool
Joining Purvii
Purvii hides distributor costs from consumers. Pricing is only revealed if a consumer hands over their personal data.
Purvii’s distributor signup process reveals what appears to be a mandatory Enroll Pack purchase and creation of a monthly autoship order.
From Purvii’s compensation plan, we know Purvii offers newly recruited distributors three Enroll Pack options:
- Partner Enroll Pack – $249
- Builder Enroll Pack – $499
- Founder Enroll Pack – $999
As far as I know the only difference between Purvii’s Enroll Packs is bundled product. Again, specific details are hidden from consumers.
Purvii Conclusion
The elephant in the room with Purvii is no amount of squiggles and dots is going to make me read it as anything but “pervy”.
From the Cambridge Dictionary;
(of sexual behavior or interests) considered strange and unpleasant by most people:
Some pervy guy tried to put a camera in the women’s locker room.
Honestly I don’t think anyone is reading Purvii as “pure vee” at first glance. At best you’re going to get confusion, and I think most people are going straight to “pervy”.
Probably the best thing Purvii could do at this point is reboot with a different name.
Is it too late to scrap the Purvii branding and relaunch with a different name?
It is? Oh dear… well in that case who signed off on the name? Was there nobody in Purvii’s marketing department that read the company’s name phonetically prior to launch?
Unfortunately I didn’t see any references to Purvii distributors as “perverts”. If they’re going to keep “Purvii” that’s definitely a missed tongue-in-cheek branding opp there.
Jokes aside (although I’m not joking about naming your MLM company “pervy”), Purvii as an MLM opportunity has several red flags.
On the product side of things this nonsense about a phone camera being able to diagnose a bunch of stuff is straight baloney.
I don’t know anything about hypercholesterolemia and triglyceridemia but I can speak to diabetes. If there was some app that turned your phone into a reliable blood glucose meter every diabetic on the planet would be using it.
Test devices and strips are not only annoying, they’re an ongoing cost.
Transdermal optical imaging is a thing but it’s primary use seems to be measuring blood pressure (blood flow).
One company I found pushing this diabetes angle with transdermal optical imaging is Nuralogix.
This is from a November 2022 press-release;
Founded in 2015, NuraLogix’s ground-breaking technology allows third-party clients such as health providers, product developers, insurance companies, and wellness programs to help consumers better manage their physical and mental health.
The expansion of its capabilities to assess HbA1c and monitor fasting glucose, as well as assess risk of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and hypertriglyceridemia is being unveiled at HLTH in Las Vegas, and is available to experience at booth #3009.
NuraLogix delivers contactless health monitoring via its Anura™ platform that combines data gathered through its TOI™ technology, a novel form of Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG).
Developed with data from more than 40,000 patients with multiple conditions, NuraLogix’s research on these predicted models has been tested and published in numerous peer-reviewed journals worldwide.
Results are delivered within its intuitive app, showing information on over 30 health parameters such as heart rate, breathing rate, and cuffless blood pressure, and providing health risk assessments for some of the most prevalent chronic conditions.
This includes type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and mental health.
This sounds remarkably similar to Purvii’s Purscan pitch. What NuraLogix is doing though isn’t so much as actually scanning as using AI to make predictions based on blood flow data.
And so we get this;
In the United States, some features of this product are for Investigational Use Only. The performance characteristics of this product have not been established.
In a January 2024 article, The Healthcare Technology Report noted that “factors such as makeup, lighting conditions, and the ability to remain still can influence readings.”
Honestly when it comes to health, you cannot have these variables.
The Healthcare Technology Reports notes that NuraLogix has submitted its technology “to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clearance on specific health metrics.” The outcome of that submission remains pending but I suppose it’s a start.
My opinion? One day AI might be good enough to do what Purvii and Nuralogix are pitching but we’re not there yet.
For now these phone apps are just a novelty that under no circumstances should be taken seriously.
And if we can establish that any output of Purvii’s Purscan is not reliable, that kills off any supplement recommendations based on it (it’s a given that any medical condition diagnostic data should be discarded as inaccurate).
What we’re left with is Purvii as an MLM company selling supplements in liquid form and a probiotic multivitamin.
One additional issue I took with Purvii’s supplements is the naming of “Glucose”. Glucose is an actual thing. I carry a small jar of it when I walk my dog in case he crashes (this isn’t supposed to happen but it’s a precaution I take nonetheless).
Purvii’s Glucose supplement doesn’t seem to have glucose in it.
PŪRVii GLUCOSE is a proprietary blend of key ingredients to help support healthy blood sugar levels.
With Purvii marketing Purscan as being as being able to measure blood glucose and having a supplement literally named “glucose”, this is not only irresponsible but for diabetics it’s potentially dangerous.
It’s as bad as coming out with a supplement called insulin that doesn’t have insulin in it and marketing said supplement to diabetics. It’s a disaster waiting to happen and there’s no excuse.
Moving on to Purvii’s compensation plan; in two of the Lusby’s past MLM companies, FGXpress and Zilis, BehindMLM noted autoship recruitment concerns.
Although it’s not overt, Purvii has indicators pointing to the main focus of the opportunity being autoship recruitment.
The first red flag is, with respect to rank qualification, penalizing distributors for making retail sales.
By only counting 50% of generated retail volume, Purvii is strongly encouraging distributors to rank qualify on their own orders. This will typically be a recurring monthly autoship order.
The second red flag is with Purvii’s distributor sign up process:
Purvii failing to disclose distributor joining costs from consumers is a potential violation of the FTC Act.
Furthermore, as you can see from the screenshot above, it appears Purvii requires each distributor to set up a mandatory autoship order. I can’t 100% confirm because, again, this information is only available to consumers if they give Purvii their personal data (create an account).
Again, intentionally failing to disclose crucial information from consumers about an MLM opportunity is a potential violation of the FTC Act. It’s also bad business.
To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with distributor autoship. But when it’s used as a qualification tool it comes at the expense of retail sales.
MLM companies should be doing everything they can to encourage retail sales. Those that don’t have to rely on internal sales (distributor orders), which lends itself to said company operating as a pyramid scheme.
With respect to Purvii, if the majority of company-wide sales volume is generated from distributors, it would indeed be operating as a pyramid scheme.
As a prospective Purvii distributor, a mandatory check on your upline would be establishing how much of their monthly PV requirement is their own order versus retail sales volume.
Anything less than a 50% split, preferably weighed heavier towards retail sales volume, is confirmation that distributor is running their Purvii business as a pyramid scheme.
Personally though I think the non-reliability of Purscan is what kills Purvii as an MLM opportunity. Purvii charges $479.4 annually for access to Purscan, whilst disclosing scan results should in no way be used to make health decisions.
I get the idea behind Purvii’s marketing, an app scan that leads to its products – but the tech just isn’t there yet. Avoid.
It wasn’t Xellis the company sold to Zinzino?
It was, as noted in the review.
Are Xellis and Zillis the same company, I’m confused. Per your previous article, it was Xellis the company which was sold to Zinzino. Here you said that it was Zilis.
Doh! No you’ve called it. Two MLM companies with very similar sounding names. I’d just written the Xellis acquisition article prior to putting this review together.
Xellis was sold, Zilis is still in business as its own company. I’ll update to reflect that.
Thanks for catching!
