Be International, not to be confused with the Islam brothers’ Be Rules, is an MLM company based out of Malaysia.

Be International was launched on or around 2017. The company offers products spanning a wide range of MLM niches.

Heading up Be International are co-founders Ir. Lee Suet Sen, Ho Huey Chuin and Karen Leong.

Be International provides vague corporate bios for each co-founder, not going into specifics of their MLM histories.

Ir. Lee Suet Sen, Ho Huey Chuin and Karen Leong all made names for themselves in Elken Global.

Elken Global, founded in 1995, was in decline around the Be International launched.

BehindMLM attempted to review Elken in May 2020, only to find it appeared to have collapsed and been gobbled up by ByDzyne.

Elken Global still has a website up but there’s nothing going on (our May 2020 report was open-ended).

Read on for a full review of Be International’s MLM opportunity.

Retail Commissions

Be International pays a commission on products sold to retail customers.

Retail commissions are calculated as the difference between the wholesale and retail price of products ordered.

Residual Commissions

Be International pays residual commissions via a unilevel compensation structure.

A unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them (level 1):

If any level 1 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team.

If any level 2 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.

Note that Be International restricts residual commissions to Ambassadors and higher ranked affiliates.

Be International pays residual commissions on up to nine unilevel team levels.

Residual commissions across these six levels are only paid on Ambassador and higher ranked affiliate volume.

  • Ambassadors earn 6% on level 1 (personally recruited Ambassadors or higher)
  • Sapphire Ambassadors earn 6% on level 1, 5% on level 2 and 4% on level 3
  • Ruby Ambassadors earn 6% on level 1, 5% on level 2, 4% on level 3 and 3% on level 4
  • Emerald Ambassadors earn 6% on level 1, 5% on level 2, 4% on level 3, 3% on level 4 and 2% on level 5
  • Diamond Ambassadors earn 6% on level 1, 5% on level 2, 4% on level 3, 3% on level 4, 2% on level 5 and 1% on level 6

  • Double Crown Ambassadors earn 6% on level 1, 5% on level 2, 4% on level 3, 3% on level 4, 2% on level 5, 1% on levels 6 and 7 and 0.5% on levels 8 and 9

  • Supervisors receive an 11% Performance Bonus
  • Executives and higher receive a 15% Performance Bonus

Note that Be International affiliates must maintain 60 BV a month to qualify for the full Performance Bonus.

If an affiliate generates less than 60 BV a month, they are only paid the Performance Bonus on their own personally generated BV (whatever the less than 60 amount is).

The Ambassador Bonus is paid out to Ambassador and higher ranked affiliates based on “Ambassador Points”.

Conclusion

As an MLM opportunity, Be International’s compensation plan clearly funnels the bulk of money to higher ranked affiliates.

They’ve basically come up with a bunch of rank restricted bonuses. There are so many of them that they have names that have nothing to do with the bonuses.

This wouldn’t be a problem if Be International was focused on retail sales.

Based on a number of factors, I’m pretty sure this isn’t the case.

For starters there are no retail volume requirements within Be International’s compensation plan.

Then there’s the reduced volume requirements as affiliates increase in rank.

This makes no sense – shouldn’t it be the opposite? The longer you’re in an MLM company the larger your retail business.

Instead Be International caps required personal sales volume at 200 and reduces required GV.

The idea is to rank as an Ambassador, then increase in ranks by recruiting Ambassadors.

You live off their generated sales volume, and this works as long as new recruits are being funneled into the system.

No doubt there are some Be International affiliates out there trying to retail the company’s products.

I know there are because I came across their marketing in researching this review.

The good news is as a potential Be International affiliate, ascertaining whether or not you’re being recruited into a pyramid scheme is easy.

To participate in the MLM side of Be International you have to rank as an Ambassador or higher.

Each Ambassador has to have accumulated 12,000 GV.

What you want to find out is how much of that GV was the affiliate’s personal sales. You’re looking for at least 4000 GV (I’m being conservative, factoring in downline retail).

Be sure to ask for evidence retail sales have been made. If you’re given the run around, remind your potential upline that they are required to keep retail documentation as per Be International’s Policies and Procedures:

The IBO shall maintain adequate internal controls and procedures to assure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 and the Direct Sales and Anti-Pyramid Scheme Act 1993 including but not limited to procedures to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and reported in its books and records to reflect truly the activities to which they pertain such as the purpose of each transaction and to whom it was made or from whom it was received.

If your potential upline has insignificant retail volume or claims retail sales or worse, can’t provide you with detailed information on their retail sales, run.

On the product side of things Be International’s offering is predominantly personal care focused. They seem to have just added some other lines to this range for the hell of it.

One of those lines is the Kodenshi garments.

I originally thought Kodenshi was a third-party manufacturer from Japan. Turns out it’s just a name for Be International’s in-house manufactured thermal compression gear.

Thermal compression gear is nothing special. There are a ton of options around, branded and unbranded. Slapping a “manufactured in Japan” label on your compression clothing doesn’t cut it.

Be International’s personal care and supplement range seems a little more thought out. Keeping in mind the market these products are being sold in though, do your homework on what is locally available.

The laundry wash and coffee seem entirely out place but sure, why not.

One thing I was expecting but didn’t find is the bombastically illegal medical claims that typically accompany any south-east Asian MLM company’s products.

Language-barriers could be at play but I didn’t come across anyone pitching Be International’s products as miracle cures.

The legitimacy of Be International’s MLM opportunity hinges on retail viability, which I’m not convinced is strong enough. Hence the lack of retail volume requirements (50% of the required 12,000 GV Ambassador bar would be great).

Check those numbers yourself as suggested and approach with caution.
