TelexFree attorney Gerry Nehra has settled with the TelexFree class-action.

Nehra, through the now defunct firm Nehra and Waak, is best known in the MLM industry for rubber-stamping TelexFree’s $3 billion Ponzi scheme.

Nehra’s class-action settlement cites him as TelexFree’s “US outside legal counsel”.

WHEREAS, Nehra communicated and facilitated communication between TelexFree and other Defendants, participants, domestic governmental entities and others.

WHEREAS, Nehra consulted with TelexFree, other Defendants, participants, domestic governmental entities, and others.

WHEREAS, Nehra performed other random tasks with TelexFree.

“Random tasks” Nehra (right) performed for TelexFree included demanding BehindMLM cease reporting on TelexFree’s fraudulent business operations in 2013.

As per the terms of Nehra’s settlement, no money will change hands but Nehra has committed to full cooperation.

Nehra’s settlement excluding a monetary component is based on Nehra

unequivocally represented that, other than the disclosed fees for services performed from 2012 through 2014 … Nehra directly and indirectly has not received, has not secreted, is not entitled to and has no claim to funds, benefit or value that is attributable to TelexFree’s unlawful pyramid scheme or related business operations.

In other words, outside of payment for assisting TelexFree with perpetuating fraud, Nehra claims he didn’t receive any additional stolen investor funds.

After initially demanding a jury trial, Nehra settled with a court-appointed TelexFree Receiver in 2017. Details of the settlement were not made public.

With respect to cooperation, Nehra has pledged to

provide assistance with authenticating documents or admitting them into evidence and offering evidence against current and past Defendants to the full extent Nehra is able and will testify at trial how and why TelexFree was an unlawful business model.

Neha’s assistance will extend to  cooperation will extend “until Final Judgment as to all Defendants with no further appeal has been reached”.

Nehra will also provide attorneys representing the TelexFree class-action with a “backup copy” of his laptop’s contents.

As at time of publication, court approval of Nehra’s TelexFree class-action settlement remains pending.
