BehindMLM first reviewed Savings Highway back in 2012. We found a “membership” MLM company selling access to discounts.

With nothing marketed or sold to retail customers, we classified Savings Highway as a matrix-based pyramid scheme.

By 2016 Savings Highway had long since collapsed. This prompted owner Steve Gresham (right) to reboot as My 1 Dollar Business.

Same business model (access to discounts and pyramid recruitment), only now membership started at $1 a month.

When My 1 Dollar Business ran its course, Gresham rebooted again as My 20 Dollar Travel Business (~2019).

This time around the only savings were travel-based. Entry membership was still $1 but was locked off from the travel discounts. Access to those discounts cost $20 or $100 a month.

Commissions were still tied to recruitment, making My 20 Dollar Travel Business another pyramid scheme.

Both My 1 Dollar Business and My 20 Dollar Travel Business ran from the domain “my1dollarbusiness.com”.

Today that domain redirects to “savingshighwayglobal.com”, the third reboot of the original Savings Highway pyramid scheme.

Steve Gresham is still running the show. According to his FaceBook profile, Gresham is based out of Georgia in the US.

Savings Highway Global’s website domain was registered in September 2020, which means My 20 Dollar Travel Business was particularly short-lived.

As of December 2023, SimilarWeb tracked ~141,000 monthly visits to Savings Highway Global’s website. The vast majority of those visits originated from the US (94%).

Initial Recruitment Commissions

Savings Highway Global pays recruitment commissions via a unilevel compensation structure.

A unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them (level 1):

If any level 1 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team.

If any level 2 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.

Savings Highway Global caps payable unilevel team levels at ten, based on rank:

  • Consultants earn on two unilevel team levels
  • Managers earn on three unilevel team levels
  • Directors earn on five unilevel team levels
  • Executives earn on all ten unilevel team levels

Accounting for these level restrictions, recruitment commissions are paid out based on how much a recruited affiliate spends.

  • recruitment of a Gold tier affiliate pays $10 on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates), $2 on level 2 and $1 on levels 3 to 10
  • recruitment of a Platinum tier affiliate pays $50 on level 1, $10 on level 2 and $5 on levels 3 to 10
  • recruitment of a Titanium tier affiliate pays $100 on level 1, $20 on level 2 and $10 on levels 3 to 10

Monthly Recruitment Commissions

Savings Highway Global affiliates earn 20% of monthly membership fees paid by personally recruited affiliates.

Not that residual recruitment commissions are paid from the second month of membership.

Residual Monthly Recruitment Commissions

Savings Highway Global pays monthly residual recruitment commissions via a 3×12 matrix.

A 3×12 matrix places an affiliate at the top of a matrix, with three positions directly under them:

These three positions form the first level of the matrix. The second level of the matrix is generated by splitting these first three positions into another three positions each (9 positions).

levels three to twelve of the matrix are generated in the same manner, with each new level of the matrix housing three times as many positions as the previous level.

Positions in the matrix are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of Savings Highway Global affiliates.

Residual monthly recruitment commissions are paid as 5% of membership fees paid by affiliates recruited into the matrix.

  • Consultants and Managers earn on up to ten matrix levels
  • Directors earn on up to eleven matrix levels
  • Executives and higher earn on all twelve available matrix levels

Note that residual monthly recruitment commissions are paid from the second month of membership.

Residual Monthly Recruitment Commission Match

Savings Highway Global pays a match on residual monthly recruitment commissions earned by personally recruited affiliates.

  • Directors earn a 5% match
  • Executives and higher earn a 10% match

Lifestyle Bonus

Executive Trainer and higher ranked Savings Highway Global affiliates receive a monthly Lifestyle Bonus:

  • Executive Trainers receive $200 a month
  • Senior Executives receive $500 a month
  • Vice Presidents receive $1000 a month
  • Senior Vice Presidents receive $2000 a month
  • Ambassadors receive a Breitling watch upon initial qualification and then $5000 a month
  • Crowne Ambassadors receive $10,000 a month

Savings Highway Global shares commissions earned from third-party vendors.

These commissions are generated when affiliates interact with vendors and make a purchase.

Beyond paying out an undisclosed percentage of kickback commissions via the ten-level unilevel team, no further specific are provided.

Savings Highway Global affiliate membership is either billed monthly or annually.

  • Gold – $20 a month or $240 annually
  • Platinum – $100 a month or $997 annually
  • Titanium – $199 a month or $1997 annually

Savings Highway Global Conclusion

After the failed “My $x business” reboots, Savings Highway Global is a return to the original Savings Highway.

The primary differences are the ranks, rank bonuses and residual initial recruitment commissions. Other than that Savings Highway Global is the same pyramid scheme with the same regulatory compliance problems.

The FTC has made it clear that MLM companies not selling products and services to retail customers are operating as pyramid schemes.

In addition to having no retail customers, Savings Highway Global makes it clear its membership tiers are “pay to play”.

“Pay to play” is another indicator of an MLM pyramid scheme.

Savings Highway’s “no refunds” refund policy may also be a further violation of the FTC Act:

Refunds are not offered for consecutive memberships starting in month two and ongoing. There are no refunds for Annual Memberships.

As with all MLM pyramid schemes, once affiliate recruitment dries up so too will commissions.

This will see newly recruited Savings Highway Global affiliates stop paying monthly fees. This in turn means those above them stop getting paid.

Once enough affiliates stop paying monthly fees, an irreversible collapse is triggered.

This has happened three times now, with each reboot casting aside victims of the previous pyramid scheme.

Math guarantees that when a pyramid scheme collapses, the majority of participants lose money.
