New Regency Television International has secured the rights for the BBC’s The Missing Cryptoqueen podcast, paving the way for a TV series.
Deadline reports the OneCoin podcast bidding process was a “highly competitive situation”. New Regency beat out A24 and 20th Century TV.
Beyond being based on The Missing Cryptoqueen, details are scarce.
(New Regency) will produce the adaptation alongside executive producers and consultants, Jamie Bartlett and Georgia Catt, co-writers of the podcast.
The producer-financier is in talks with writers and directors with the intention of setting the project as a multi-episodic drama.

This is fantastic. When i listened to all podcast series i said to myself, it would be really great if it was “backed up” with picture.

Shy Love the adult “star”, for Ruja. Miley Cyrus for Veselina Valkova, Ron Jeremy for Sebastian, someone who at least speaks proper English and is completely lost for Duncan Arthur, Di Caprio, maybe.
Jacki Chan for Simon Lee, Rowan Atkinson for Zafor, the Swedish chef on the Muppets for Pitt Arens… I can’t wait!
We can’t forget Kari Wahlroos, Denis Murdock, the Steinkeller Brothers, Irina Dilksinka, Pehr Karlsson, Peter Hjelte, Christi Calina, Chris Principe, Ed Ludbrook, Veska Ignatov, Frank Ricketts, Islam brothers, Pablo Munoz, Pierre Ahrens, Steffan Liback, Sina Hunt, Tommi Vuorinen, Udo Deppisch, Mariana Lopez de Waard.
I’m sure there are others, but this would give them a good list of people to consider for the series.
I always thought this subject would make a great series. Recycle Bot would be a great story just because of the characters alone… It doesn’t get any better than a Ponzi being owned by a self admitted convicted fraudster and still have a bunch of people selling that shit.
I got in with a very small amount from Day 1 when I knew absolutely nothing and got my money out quick when they rolled out with ole Gressy Fingers himself. I just stuck around to read their news feed because it was like watching a Reality TV Show that you know is just going to go horribly wrong…as it did.
I paid 30 days in FB Jail for calling Laurie Suarez (Male) a “Bitch” and it was worth every day!
Did we forget Jose Gordo ? Antonio Banderas or Javi Bardem, because at the end you need to present them as bad guys.
Don’t know if this idea is a good thing. After the Wolf of Wall Street many young kids start to idealise the fact that however you make money even scamming people, still looks cool. That’s not the way to go for sure.
I think Forest Whitaker would make an excellent King Jaymes and Al Pacino would play an excellent Kari Wahlroos.
Average Onecoiner could be played by animated cartoon character from South Park, Timmy.
Instead of just yelling “timmy” all the time, they could yell “Onecoin number 1!” and “exchange coming soon, yeah!”…
Wahlroos will sue if anyone try’s to play is roll.

I previously cast Angelina Jolie as Ruja but on reflection, if they don’t cast Ruth Wilson (Luther, His Dark Materials), we may as well give up on TV.

Duncan Arthur should be played by the actor who did Father Jack in Father Ted, even if he’s dead.

Very cool and exciting! There is the movie “The Laundromat” about Panama Papers, so why not make a drama about OneCoin too.
There are certainly elements for great drama in the OneCoin saga. Many great and interesting characters and turns of events; Ruja and Konstantin have overall pretty interesting life stories — with intersting contrasts between them.
Let’s see how ambitious they will be and how much they limit themselves to the podcast’s story, which was made before Mark S Scott’s trial.
I hope they don’t rush with this, because the full story may take years to come out and unfold. The ideal would be to wait after Ruja gets processed through US court system, but that might take eternity.
[Perhaps they have reached a deal with Sebastian Greenwood (+ Konstantin), who from his FBI safe house is helping Jamie, Georgia and other writers to fill in the blanks. ]
Konstantin’s wonderful snitching (brother turning against a sister) in court brought some incredible elements to the story, to name some:
– Ruja’s lurid love dramas between Björn Strehl, Gilbert Armenta and Sebastian Greenwood. The incredible wiretapping thing. [Previously there was a rumour about Ruja’s affair with her bodyguard, ending in blood, tears and lost money.]
– Murky ties with organized crime (Taki “the cocaine king” as OneCoin’s head of security etc.), political elite and Russian oligarchs. And crooked former spy-chief Frank Schneider being probably the central figure in managing it all.
-Horse mogul Amer Abdulaziz helping them to launder money and then stealing hunders of millions. Plus some other dramas with money that Konstantin told in court, like Sebastian Greenwood, Irina Dilkinska and a “Chinese gentleman” stealing tens/hundreds of millions of OneCoin loot.
– Downsides of being a MLM scammer such as Konstantin kidnapped in Sofia + Hells Angels member putting a gun in his mouth in Switzerland.

I definitely recommend watching TV Movie “The Wizard Of Lies” – The Bernie Madoff ponzi story. Bernie is played by Robert De Niro.

I sure hope they feature that woman who got me into this scam. She worked it religiously like a job, a career, 8-10 hours a day.
Even when things started to fall apart, she STILL worked it, trying to steal as much money as she could from unsuspecting suckers. She told me she had like a million coins, and must have made millions from continuing to market this long after it was exposed.
When the articles first started appearing here I sent them to her, but she insisted they were all lies, and nothing could be proven.
People who do things like this give a bad name to all internet marketers, even those of us who are 110% honest and ethical. It makes people more skeptical and it makes it harder for us to make an honest living on the web.

He has been through the legal harassment, threats, and even got physically assaulted, probably on the instruction of UK leaders after he admitted to speaking to the BBC.
