Back in 2022 OneCoin rolled out new CEO Ventsislav Zlatkov.

Zlatkov featured in a few OneCoin marketing promo videos and then… not much else.

On February 18th, OneCoin announced Zlatkov had been dumped.

As per an “official statement” on OneCoin’s “One Ecosystem” website;

We would like to share an important update regarding the leadership of ONE Ecosystem and our strategic direction moving forward.

Recently, key discussions were held at our headquarters in Hanoi, Vietnam, where we carefully assessed our achievements, challenges, and future aspirations.

Although OneCoin represents it is now based out of Vietnam, it is still believed to be operated from Sofia, Bulgaria.

We acknowledge that the time has come for a leadership transition to ensure that ONE Ecosystem continues its path to excellence and sustained growth.

We express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Ventsislav Zlatkov for his invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to our community.

We deeply appreciate his role in laying the groundwork for future success and wish him nothing but the best in all his future endeavors.

At the time of Zlatkov’s departure, SimilarWeb is tracking ~103,000 monthly visits to the One Ecosystem website (January 2025). 22% of traffic originates from China, followed by 18% from Russia and 16% from Thailand.

OneCoin scamming Chinese residents likely ties into whatever it has going on in neighboring Vietnam.

With Zlatkov out of the picture, OneCoin returns to being a faceless company. Whether another puppet CEO is installed remains to be seen.
