Modere was an MLM company that collapsed in April 2025.

Two separate lawsuits reveal, in addition to screwing over distributors, Modere also screwed over employees and its product manufacturer.

A civil lawsuit filed by former Modere employees in Utah on April 21st alleges Maple Mountain Group, dba Modere, fired “approximately 160 employees” without adequate notice.

On or about April 11, 2025 and thereafter, Defendant ordered the termination of Plaintiffs’ employment together with the termination of approximately 60 other employees who worked at or reported to the Springville Facility and approximately 100 employees who worked at or reported to the Provo Facility as part of a mass layoff and/or plant closing as defined by the WARN Act, for which they were entitled to receive 60 days advance written notice under the WARN Act.

A class-action has been proposed, seeking sixty days of “unpaid wages, salary, commissions, bonuses, accrued holiday pay, accrued vacation pay pension, 401(k) contributions and other ERISA benefits”.

Separately, in a June 6th pay-walled article the Salt Lake Tribune reports Modere “owes CBS Nutrition nearly $2 million”.

A lawsuit filed last week accuses Modere of being financially “insolvent” — which is why, the suit claims, Modere owes CSB Nutrition nearly $2 million.

CSB Nutrition, based in Spanish Fork, manufactures nutritional supplements and was one of Modere’s largest suppliers, the lawsuit claims.

Even before Modere shut down, CSB Nutrition claims Modere was slow to pay its invoices and rarely paid them in full.

“Modere wanted to make just enough payments in attempting to ensure that CSB did not refuse to continue manufacturing existing or new purchase orders,” the complaint says.

Now, CSB can’t reach Modere. CSB attorneys sent demand letters to Modere’s former in-house attorney, the lawsuit claims, who responded she would make sure it got in the right hands. She has not responded to subsequent messages, according to the complaint.

Following Modere’s collapse Capital Group LLC, the private equity group that owned Modere, appears to have cashed out through a sale to Shaklee.

Nate Frazier, who was instrumental in misleading distributors, employees and CSB Nutrition as Modere’s CEO, has not made any public statements since Modere collapsed.

Unfortunately CSB Nutrition’s lawsuit appears to have been filed in Utah state court. This means BehindMLM’s coverage of the case will be limited.

Stay tuned for updates as we continue to follow the Modere employees class-action.
