Troy Barnes criminal case delayed until September, 2016
This is starting to get a bit predictable.
On July 13th Troy Barnes filed yet another Motion to Continue Docket Call, again requesting more time to go over discovery.
(Barnes’) Counsel remains in the process of reviewing the over 116,000 documents received from the government.
Counsel has requested additional discovery, including bank records, from the government.
Undersigned counsel is in the process of investigating the case and preparing for trial and requires additional time to prepare for trial.
A July 18th order from Judge Cogburn has approved Barnes’ motion, with the matter continued to the September 2016 term. Judge Cogburn’s order also acknowledges Barnes’ attorney has ‘requested additional discovery from the government’.
Barnes’ was initially scheduled to go on trial last November. He has since filed no less than five Motions to Continue Docket.
