Following the court’s rejection of a time served plea deal, Mohammed “Moe” Diab’s Allied Walled criminal case is headed to trial.

In rejecting the proposed plea deal at a December 19th hearing, the court informed the parties it would

accept an agreed-upon sentence substantially below the low end of the applicable guideline range but not a sentence without at
least a number of months of incarceration, followed by some period of home confinement.

In a Joint Status report filed on December 22nd, the parties informed the court they were unable to agree on terms of incarceration. As such, a trial date for the first or second quarter of 2025 was requested.

The court has scheduled a Status Conference to further discuss the issue on January 7th, 2025.

Allied Wallet was a scam-friendly payment processor owned by CEO Ahmad “Andy” Khawaja (right).

Rountree and co-defendant Mohammed “Moe” Diab” helped run Allied Wallet, as COO and VP of Operations respectively.

Following their indictments in 2021, Rountree and Diab pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud back in August.

Rountree was sentenced to time served on December 13th. As of June 2023, Khawaja is reported to be out on bail pending extradition proceedings in Lithuania.
