SPX Nutrition Review: Nutri-Thin relaunched?
SPX Nutrition launched a few months back and are based out of the US state of Utah.
Operating in the MLM weight-loss niche, SPX Nutrition is headed up by President Rick Wall.
As per Wall’s SPX Nutrition bio,
Rick is no stranger to the direct-selling enterprise. Spending the last 25 years as a mentor and coach, he has helped thousands of leaders create successful online businesses and form winning teams.
Rick has more than 30 years of public speaking experience and has been instrumental in the organization and implementation of numerous community action groups.
Despite those impressive numbers, I was unable to find any trace of Rick Wall in the MLM industry pre-dating 2011.
In 2011 Rick Wall co-founded and launched Nutri-Thin with partner Lyle Waters.
Nutri-thin centered around a product bearing its namesake and paid commissions via a 2×15 matrix.
What happened to Nutri-Thin I’m not sure, but today the company’s website domain redirects to SPX Nutrition.
Lyle Waters isn’t mentioned anywhere on the SPX Nutrition website, so this appears to be a solo effort by Wall to keep the company going.
Further research reveals that at some point Wall signed up as an affiliate with EPX Body (weight-loss):
EPX Body used to sell Nutri-Thin, but a visit to their website today reveals it is no longer being marketed by the company. What happened there I’m not sure.
The EPX Body affiliate links on Wall’s personal website (“makemoneywithrickwall.com”) no longer work, so one would assume he is no longer with the company. Whether or not this was the motivating factor behind the recently launch of SPX Nutrition is unclear.
Read on for a full review of the SPX Nutrition MLM business opportunity.
The SPX Nutrition Product Line
SPX Nutrition’s flagship product is a “Nutri-Thin”, the same product marketed by Wall under the Nutri-Thin company brand.
Rick Wall attributes himself as a significant contributor to the development of the product:
Rick worked with top doctors and scientists to develop SPX Nutrition’s premier line of nutritional supplements.
SPX Nutrition describe Nutri-Thin as “science-backed, time-tested and (a) proven success”, yet no scientific studies particularly pertaining to Nutri-Thin are provided.
Nutri-Thin’s proprietary ingredients are scientifically formulated to target three key areas: increase your energy levels dramatically, suppress your appetite, and burn excess body fat.
The energy comes from many ingredients including vitamin B-12 and every other B complex. Nutri-Thin suppresses the appetite by feeding the brain receptors and making you feel satisfied by using the same ingredient found in raw chocolate.
Highly concentrated combinations of other natural ingredients cause your body’s metabolism to speed up and burn excessive fat cells through a process called thermogenesis.
Nutri-Thin retails for $40 a bottle, which is listed as enough for a “30 day supply”.
Other products listed on the SPX Nutrition website include:
- Nutri-Cleanse – a “detox formula” ($40 for a 30-day supply bottle)
- Sea Veg – a “whole food multi-nutritional supplement” ($40 for a 30-day supply bottle)
- Xtreme Cardio – “designed to help improve your cardiovascular health by giving you the best combination of L-Arginine, L-Citrulline and other trace minerals” ($50 for a 30-day supply bottle)
The SPX Nutrition Compensation Plan
The SPX Nutrition compensation plan revolves around the purchase of products by affiliates.

GV stands for “Group Volume” and is the sales volume of an affiliate’s downline.
Note that only 60% of the required GV at any given rank can be sourced from any one individual unilevel leg.
Rank Advancement Bonus
Upon qualifying at certain affiliate membership ranks for the first time and holds it for three consecutive months, SPX Nutrition pay affiliates a Rank Advancement Bonus:
- Director – $1200 (paid out over 12 months)
- Executive – $24,000 (paid out over 12 months)
- Corp Director – $120,000 (paid out over 24 months)
- Corp Executive – $320,000 (paid out over 24 months)
- IGSC – $1,000,000 (paid out over 36 months)
First Order Bonus
The First Order Bonus is a 35% commission payable on the first order made by a newly recruited affiliate.
The First Order Bonus also pays out on an additional two levels of recruitment, with how many levels an affiliate is paid on determined by how much money they spent when they joined:
- Starter affiliate ($120) – 5% on level 1
- Builder affiliate ($240) – 5% on levels 1 and 2
Residual Unilevel Commissions
Residual commissions in SPX Nutrition are paid out using a unilevel compensation structure.
A unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them (level 1):
If any level 1 affiliates go on to recruit new affiliates of their own, they are placed on level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team. If any level 2 affiliates go on to recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.
SPX Nutrition cap payable unilevels at seven, with how many levels deep an affiliate earns tied to their SPX Nutrition affiliate membership rank:
- Customer (basic affiliate) – 25% on level 1
- IP – 25% on level 1 and 2% on level 2
- SR IP I – 25% on level 1, 3% on level 2 and 1% on level 3
- SR IP II – 25% on level 1, 4% on level 2 and 3% on level 3
- Manager – 25% on level 1, 5% on level 2, 4% on level 3 and 2% on level 4
- Sr. Manager I – 25% on level 1, 5% on levels 2 and 3 and 3% on level 4
- Sr. Manager II – 25% on level 1, 5% on levels 2 and 3 and 4% on level 4
- Director – 25% on level 1, 5% on levels 2 and 3, 4% on level 4 and 2% on level 5
- Sr. Director I – 25% on level 1, 5% on levels 2 and 3, 4% on level 4 and 3% on level 5
- Sr. Director II – 25% on level 1, 5% on levels 2 and 3 and 4% on levels 4 and 5
- Executive – 25% on level 1, 5% on levels 2 and 3, 4% on levels 4 and 5 and 2% on level 6
- Sr. Executive I – 25% on level 1, 5% on levels 2 and 3, 4% on levels 4 and 5, 3% on level 6 and 2% on level 7
- Sr. Executive II – 25% on level 1, 5% on levels 2 and 3, 4% on levels 4 and 5 and 3% on levels 6 and 7
Generational Bonus
SPX Nutrition offer a Generational Bonus to Sr. Manager I, Sr. Director I and Sr. Executive I ranked affiliates. 1% is offered at each rank, culminating at 3% total for Sr. Executive I affiliates.
The Generational Bonus pays out a bonus percentage on unilevel sales volume generated by an affiliate’s downline.
The bonus pays out according to generations, with a generation defined as all the affiliates in any given leg until an affiliate at the same or higher rank than the qualifying affiliate is found.
Eg. If the qualifying affiliate is a Sr. Director I, a generation in any given unilevel leg would extend down until another Sr. Director I or higher was found.
If no Sr. Director I or higher ranked affiliate was found, the whole unilevel leg would count as a first generation.
As per the above generational mechanic, affiliates are paid down a maximum of two generations at the Sr. Executive I rank.
New Growth Bonus
The New Growth Bonus is another unilevel percentage bonus, paying an affiliate for generating new sales volume after achieving certain rank milestones:
- Sr. Manager II – 1%
- Sr. Director II – 1%
- Sr. Executive II – 1%
- Sr. Corp Dir II – 1%
- Sr. Corp Exec II – 1%
Note that these percentages stack, with new volume tracked from volume generated after an affiliate has qualified at one of the specified ranks.
Although not explicitly clarified in the SPX Nutrition compensation plan, I believe new volume generated at the Sr. Manager II level stacks (increases to 2%) when an affiliate qualifies at the Sr. Director II rank.
In this manner new sales volume generated between Sr. Manager II and Sr. Director II can ultimately be paid out at 5% once an affiliate qualifies at Sr. Corp Exec II.
A matching bonus on the New Growth Bonus paid out to personally recruited affiliates is also available.
How much of a percentage match is paid out is determined by an affiliates membership rank:
- Director – 25%
- Sr. Director I – 30%
- Sr. Director II – 35%
- Executive – 40%
- Sr. Executive I – 45%
- Sr. Executive II – 50%
- Corp Director – 55%
- Corp Director I – 60%
- Corp Director II – 65%
- Corp Executive – 70%
- Sr. Corp Executive I – 75%
- Sr. Corp Executive II – 80%
- ISGC – 85%
Lifestyle Bonus
The Lifestyle Bonus is a cash monthly bonus payable from the Sr. Director II rank.
Affiliates are paid the bonus for as long as they hold the applicable affiliate membership rank:
- Sr. Director II – $200
- Executive – $300
- Sr. Executive I – $400
- Sr. Executive II – $700
- Corp Director – $1000
- Sr. Corp Director I – $1200
- Sr. Corp Director II – $1500
- Corp Executive – $2000
- Sr. Corp Executive I – $3000
- Sr. Corp Executive II – $4000
- IGSC – $5000
SPX Nutrition affiliates are free to spend the Lifestyle Bonus as they see fit.
Joining SPX Nutrition
Basic affiliate membership to SPX Nutrition appears to be free.
An affiliate can however choose to spend $120 or $240 on SPX Nutrition products when they join. This additional cost qualifies them to earn on up to two additional levels via the First Order Bonus (see compensation plan explanation above).
Conclusion
I’m having a hard time defining true retail within SPX Nutrition’s business model.
The signup options for “customers” and affiliates are identical, with the only difference being “customers” are only able to earn down a single-level.
Regardless, this is still not true retail so it would appear SPX Nutrition’s products are not available at a retail level.
This is problematic as if all revenue generated is sourced from affiliates, effectively commissions are tied to recruitment.
The general thrust behind the SPX Nutrition compensation plan would appear to be a buy-in of either Starter ($120) or Builder ($240), the signing up of autoship and then recruitment of affiliates who do the same.
The differentiation between regular, Starter and Builder affiliates with respect to income potential adds an additional “pay to play” element to the opportunity.
The more an affiliate spends when they join, the greater their potential income.
A quick check as to how much volume a potential upline generates from “customer” volume versus affiliate volume should give you an idea of what is going on behind the scenes. Asking whether or not monthly PV requirements are being met by external sales or autoship wouldn’t hurt either.
Call me cynical but I imagine in most cases you’re going to find personal PV quotas met with an autoship order and the vast majority of purchasers of SPX Nutrition’s product line being affiliates.
“Customers”, as SPX Nutrition defines them aren’t retail, but are more of a traditional single-level affiliate program (non-MLM). They only participate in the MLM side of the business when they hit 40 PV a month (likely to be autoship).
All in all I’m not seeing anything too compelling here. Nutri-Thin appears to have already failed under both Nutri-Thin and EPX Body, so I’m not really sure a third opportunity marriage is going to be any more viable.
Some clarification as to what happened after Nutri-Thin and then what went down between Rick Wall and EPX Body wouldn’t go astray either.
Probably the “same wine, new bottle” technique… Spiffy up the exterior and give it another spin. Just have the packager slap a new label/bottle on it. Muahahahaha!
Or Wall had a bad split from EPX and decide to ‘clone’ it by making a backdoor deal with the supplier.
Or both.
Take a supplement, give it a new design and name, rinse repeat?? Not just MLM…but welcome to the world of supplements.
of course, the ‘ingredients’ will be ‘proprietary’. not everyone can mix flourchoclatebabyformulagardenweeds to create ‘scientific’ products . i hope rick keeps his ‘formula’ in a safe deposit box!
Affiliate Membership Ranks : Customer – place an order for SPX Nutrition products — nutri thin plan
one can safely assume the number of customers is ZERO , unless ricks mom is kind and helpful.
I was with EPX when Mr. Wall merged with them and brought Nutri-Thin on. That product I and my downline loved.
I have spoke to Rick Wall, and his company owns Nutri-Thin and the formulation. I read the press release when Nutri-Thin pulled away from epx and for good reason. The same reason I left and most of the company reps.
They were charging us for products, not just Nutri-Thin but all of their products and then we would never get them for months and they would give us excuse after excuse and then we could never get our commissions. I and my team moved on after that.
It’s no wonder they pulled their product away from them. I remember EPX lost a product called SeaVeg which was an amazing product that was owned also by a guy Named Scott Kennedy and he pulled his product from them too. I would have to believe for many of the same reasons Wall did.
I think Rick Wall is a stand up guy and based on what I saw from him helping them grow, it’s no wonder they are doing their own deal. The reps there seem pretty happy now. Just my personal experience from being there and watching it and not from the sidelines.
Thanks for filling in those blanks John.
I was also with EPX when Rick merged Nutri-Thin with them. Rick bringing his company on board was the best thing that happened to us with EPX. I seriously dislike bashing so I’ll try to respond without saying too many negative things although it’s difficult regarding that company.
I promise you that many people left EPX due to multiple issues, Rick and Nutri-Thin were NOT one of those issues.
Some EPX issues John mentioned above, some (many) he did not. Rick pulling Nutri-Thin was an extremely smart and ethical decision on his part. Many of us who left EPX were praying Rick would pull his products and start his own company and we are all extremely grateful he did.
I have been around this industry for a while. I have met few people who care as much about people as Rick does.
Nutri-Thin did not fail, Rick merged with EPX…EPX was the one that failed all of us time and time again.
SPX Nutrition is here because so many of US wanted it to be, we begged for it to be. Honestly I can’t think of one single person that I would rather have as my CEO than Rick. I know Rick, I have not only spent countless hours on the phone with him over the course of years, I have spent time with him in person. He really is an honest and upstanding guy.
Nutri-Thin is here because it’s a great product that has a following. The people that have followed this product love it because it works – not because it comes with an opportunity.
I know there was no way I could address it all, I did not even come close but I wanted to chime in.
Have an amazing weekend everyone!
As Christine has stated above a lot of us were with another company with NutriThin.. However when shipping and back orders were getting delayed it was only time for Rick to simply take his product back along with his personal arsenal of items and choose to get back in the game and help us customers/reps be in a better position..
As I see many true facts in thise posts I do want to share a customer or rep (IP) can jon for a $40 entry not just $120 or above..
Sure different levels will be available and can earn you more as well.. But even as a customer you can refer ppl and make CREDITS by sharing your link when you sign up and earn credit for future orders.. Making those customers feel just as important as our reps or IP do..
My family has been on Nutri thin for almost 3 years and now tied in with our other products, its a win win for health and wealth..
My first reply didn’t go through. In short, I agree with John, Christine and Chads replies. I use NutriThin and all the SPXNUTRITION products and they work!
The company pays. I trust Rick Wall. He’s not let me down yet. This company is here to stay cause the products works and the company is awesome!
I appreciate the opportunity to respond to this article. I was with EPX originally because of product quality and it fit in well with my fitness center and my desire to share all natural, affordable products that work.
Nutri-thin is an amazing product and I have dozens of success stories ( member testimonials) hanging on my wall at the gym.
I had been VERY frustrated with EPX having constant shipping delays on product orders ( and commission checks), and after 6 months of being scolded by my gym members and friends, I had started feeling very defeated, hopeless.
I would start a 90-Day Challenge and my members weren’t getting their products until 2-5 weeks later!!! This was ALWAYS happening!! Unacceptable.
My upline left the company and then I was embraced by Rick Walk to join in on his weekly webinars , even though my team was not in his downline. He was very generous to us.
When I saw that he was leaving the company I felt that it was meant to be to follow him. We talked for hours over a 5-day span. I loved his approach – his vision, and that he was definitely going to make customer service a main priority, which he has.
Our products arrive in a very timely manner! We get our commission checks on time.
The comp plan allows people to get into profit quickly and I have many every day average people who have started as customers and have eagerly upgraded ( no fee) to become an IP.
As a 17 year fitness/wellness professional, I can stand behind these products and the CEO of SPX Nutrition. Rick Wall has already delivered on what he said he would do and I’m happy to be part of this company. No monthly fees, no start-up fees… It’s pretty straight forward.
Our 90-Day Challengers have already received their checks for qualifying weight-loss, (over 20 pounds in 90 days).
They have been posting about it along with their gratitude, all over Facebook.
Like all mlm’s, people have to make the decision to start, put in some effort, and ‘stay the course.’ We even built in a fb support group where we share meal guides, recorded workouts, recipes, and daily guidance and motivation from a volunteer team of nationally certified personal trainers and nutrition coaches.
Free support for our Challengers to help them ‘learn how’ to adopt a healthy lifestyle. I promise you that there is a strong feeling (corporate climate) of ‘We care’ here at this company.
Thank you for allowing the input!! I hope everyone has a great day and is ROCKIN in whatever business you decide to pursue!! :))
Well… Mr. Wall made a bad choice in aligning with EPX. That would explain how that same product was distributed by 3 different companies with a minor label swap. Thanks to John for the clarification.
I also want to clarify that while I am not here to bash EPX, as a gym owner, I gave away hundreds of dollars in free personal training to compensate for delayed shipments.
I had clients and members participating in their weight loss challenge who couldn’t get their products for weeks, but were charged right away.
That said, SPX Nutrition products are top-notch. I have many, many, many satisfied customers who are not distributors, and some who are. I even have a “wall-of-fame” of testimonials from happy clients.
The products help people lose weight, along with a healthy lifestyle. The private Facebook support group that accompanies the 90-day weight loss challenge is exceptional and the certified personal trainers (of which I am one) give hours and hours of uncompensated advice and knowledge to help anyone on the challenge learn to eat better and exercise properly.
I hope you’ll do your own research and decide for yourself if this business is right for you. SPX Nutrition is a great company, led by a man who truly cares about his customers and distributors.
I was also with everyone else above when Nutri Thin was offered in another company. Many of us remained only because of Rick Wall even after 80% or more of our downline left.
However, after months of continued delays in commissions, product delivery, and empty promises, many of us left but stayed in touch with Rick.
With SPX Nutrition, products are in stock and delivered in just a few days. Commissions are paid on time, every time. If you have a question, you can contact c/s and speak to a live person and get an answer.
As a rep, we are able to choose the package and product we want to join with. Anyone can create a free account to check out the business and get more information on the products.
Customers can join simply to purchase the product and will also receive customer rewards or “credits” for free products. Plus, customer orders count in your volume.
I personally feel very blessed that I have the chance to work with Rick and so many other amazing people again. Much success to each of you.
I too was also involved in EPX Body. A few months after I joined, Rick Wall announced he was coming on board and bringing his product Nutri-thin with him. Everyone was extremely happy to welcome him aboard, his product was very well received and his leadership was amazing.
I and a few other leaders had the opportunity to meet Rick Wall in person and he’s one of the most honest and ethical people I’ve ever met in this business. As stated above, EPX had issues and it was becoming more of a problem.
Back in April of this year Rick had officially announced he was parting ways with EPX Body and was working on a new, better business model. Not necessarily a rebrand but a new company, new products and new business plan. That company is what you see here today SPX Nutrition.
I’ve been with the company since day 1 and have followed Rick and his team, and I have been very pleased with not only the direction of the company but also the customer service.
Rick prides himself on strong customer service and that’s exactly what you get when you join SPX Nutrition!
I was also a former EPX BODY distributor and friend of the owner who convinced me he had something better than the compay I was with, so I listened. I was a founder and joined EPX BODY on the first day. The expectations were huge but what a let down that company became.
Everything is true being posted above. Products taking months to get, commissions taking months and sometimes not getting paid at all. I was a company guy and just tried my best to tell people to hang in there.
Then EPX got into a forex trading robot called EPX Trader and some 180 gimmick, besides I have taxbot for $9.99 and savii savings is free so why would anyone pay for it, makes no sense.
I lost over thousand bucks on EPX Trader, it lost money and then tack on all the over seas transaction fees it is a joke. There is no direction or focus over there.
Enough was enough I know Rick is the real deal and a straight shooter I was practically begging him to leave and start his own company for a few months with Nutri-Thin.
My prayers were answered in May when he launched SPX Nutrition. I joined that first day and resigned from that other company even though I still had a downline with several thousand in volume.
Christy is correct, Rick was smart to get out of there and not drag his Nutri-Thin brand down with that other company that is going nowhere.
SPX Nutrition, gets products at your door step in 3-4 days, they are life changing and commissions are paid in real time so you always know what your volume is and residual income starts on day one.
Also Rick leads by example and is a product of his products. Now he just launched Xtreme cardio with protein things just keep getting better. Lastly there is just such a positive vibe here at SPX Nutrition people really do help each other even when they are crossline.
This is why there are so many postings here on this article. We are apart of a family and feel the positive vibe and quality of the products and ownership. SPX Nutrition truly is about People Helping People.
Oz this company will be making some big noise in this industry real soon, it’s already starting.
My story is almost word for word like Brad Jeffs’.
I am proud to be with SPX Nutrition and proud to represent Rick Wall.
