MWR Life Review v2: Travel Advantage pyramid ambiguity
BehindMLM initially reviewed MWR Life in 2015. A reboot of My Warranty Rewards, MWR Life marketed access to third-party telephone subscription services.
By 2018 MWR Life had switched out telephone subscriptions for Travel Advantage, a discounted travel services platform. A previously offered finance services subscription was spun off separately as MWR Financial.
BehindMLM revisited MWR Financial in May 2024, only to discover yet another “Make Wealth Real” reboot.
Ten years have passed since BehindMLM’s original MWR Life review. While we have kept up to date with its various spinoffs, today BehindMLM revisits MWR Life itself for an updated review.
The Company
MWR Life began as My Warranty Rewards back in 2013. The company is founded by Jay Tuerk and Yoni Ashurov.
Tuerk appears to have quietly moved on a few years in, leaving Ashurov (right) in charge.
In addition to being a co-founder Ashurov is CEO of MWR Life. Ashurov’s MWR Life corporate bio cites him as “the backbone” of the company.
Both MWR Life and Ashurov are based out Florida in the US.
MWR Life’s Products
MWR Life markets Travel Advantage, marketed as “a membership for all your travel needs”.
A Travel Advantage member subscription is available at three price-points:
- Guest – no cost to sign up, provides access to hotel discounts
- VIP – $19.97 a month or $199 annually, adds “deep hotel discounts”, “150% best price guarantee” and ability to “add 1 additional traveler”
- Elite – $120 activation and then $119.97 a month, adds “exclusive elite-only offers”, 120 loyalty points a month and ability to “add 4 additional travelers”
All Travel Advantage members earn travel credits on booked travel.
Elite tier Travel Advantage subscribers also receive loyalty points.
These points are worth the same as the monthly membership fee. If you are an Elite member, for example, you will earn 120 new loyalty points every month.
Each loyalty point is worth $1 and can be redeemed to reduce the final price of your bookings.
Travel Advantage additionally has a $247 one-time “Turbo Add-On” upsell.
The Turbo Add-On provides access to “exclusive turbo member hotel deals” and “flex traveler every 6 months” (I don’t know what a “flex traveler is and MWR Life doesn’t elaborate in its marketing).
MWR Life’s Compensation Plan
MWR Life’s compensation plan pays on the sale of Travel Advantage memberships to retail customers and recruited promoters.

PV stands for “Personal Volume”. PV is sales volume generated via the purchase and sale of VIP and Elite Travel Advantage memberships.
- purchase/sale of a VIP Travel Advantage membership generates 1 PV from the second billing cycle
- purchase/sale of an Elite Travel Advantage membership generates 6 PV every billing cycle
It’s assumed that annual VIP Travel Advantage membership also generates 1 PV every monthly billing cycle. Note however that this is not confirmed in MWR Life’s compensation documentation.
GV stands for “Group Volume”. GV is the PV sum total of a MWR Life promoter and their downline.
Also note that from Titanium, required Travel Advantage subscribers must be split evenly across each side of a binary team.
A binary compensation structure places a promoter at the top of a binary team, split into two sides (left and right):
The first level of the binary team houses two positions. The second level of the binary team is generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).
Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing twice as many positions as the previous level.
Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of promoters. Note there is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow.
MLM Commission Qualification
To qualify for MLM commissions, MWR Life promoters must at a minimum be generating 6 Qualification Points over a rolling thirty-day period.
Qualification Points are generated by personal Travel Advantage membership sales:
- sale of a VIP membership generates 1 point per month from the second billing date
- sale of an Elite Travel Advantage membership generates 6 points every billing date
It’s assumed that annual VIP Travel Advantage membership sales still generate 1 point per month but this isn’t explicitly clarified in MWR Life’s compensation documentation.
Referral Commissions
MWR Life pays a referral commission on the sale of VIP, Elite and Turbo Add-On sales to retail customers and recruited promoters:
- sale of a VIP membership pays $20
- sale of an Elite membership pays $40
- sale of a Turbo Add-On upsell pays $80
Fast Start Bonus
The Fast Start Bonus rewards MWR Life promoters for referring Elite tier Travel Advantage members within their first seven to fourteen days.
Upon signing up, a MWR Life promoter has fourteen days to refer two Elite Travel Advantage members.
If this goal is met, the promoter receives a $150 Fast Start Bonus.
If the goal is met within seven days, the promoter receives a $150 Fast Start Bonus and the timer is reset. The reset allows the promoter to receive another $150 if they refer another two Elite Travel Advantage members within seven days of the reset.
A third reset is made available if the second set of referred Elite members is achieved within another seven days.
If qualified for and another two Elite Travel Advantage members are referred within seven days of the second reset, the total amount the Fast Start Bonus pays out is $450.
Boost Bonus
The Boost Bonus rewards MWR Life promoters when six to twelve Elite and/or Turbo Add-On memberships are sold across their downline in a week.
- Gold promoters receive $600 when six Elite Travel Advantage and/or Turbo Add-On memberships are sold in a week
- Platinum promoters receive $1200 when twelve Elite Advantage and/or Turbo Add-On memberships are sold in a week
The Boost Bonus appears locked to the Gold and Platinum promoter ranks.
Note that
- no more than 50% of required Boost Bonus volume can come from any one recruitment leg
- only 50% of the Boost Bonus is paid if any of the new Travel Advantage members cancel after their first month
Residual Referral Commissions
MWR Life pays residual referral commissions on monthly Travel Advantage membership fees paid by personally referred retail customers and recruited promoters.
- refer and maintain ten to twenty-five active Travel Advantage members and receive 10%
- refer and maintain twenty-six to fifty active Travel Advantage members and receive 15%
- refer and maintain fifty-one to one hundred active Travel Advantage members and receive 20%
- refer and maintain one hundred and one or more active Travel Advantage members and receive 25%
Builder Bonus
The Builder Bonus is a coded bonus paid on the sale of Elite and Elite + Turbo Add-on Travel Advantage memberships:
- up to $125 is paid on the sale of an Elite Travel Advantage membership
- up to $250 is paid on the sale of an Elite + Turbo Add-on Travel Advantage membership
Specifically, the Builder Bonus is “coded” based on rank:
- Silver ranked promoters earn $10 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Gold ranked promoters earn $20 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Platinum ranked promoters earn $30 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Jade ranked promoters earn $40 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Pearl ranked promoters earn $50 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Emerald ranked promoters earn $60 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale

- Blue Diamond ranked promoters earn $95 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Black Diamond ranked promoters earn $100 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Royal ranked promoters earn $105 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Double Royal ranked promoters earn $110 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Triple Royal ranked promoters earn $115 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Blue Royal ranked promoters earn $120 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
- Black Royal ranked promoters earn $125 on an Elite Travel Advantage membership sale and $20 on an Elite + Turbo-Add on sale
The coded nature of the Builder Bonus sees upline higher ranked promoters earn the difference between their Builder Bonus rate and lower-ranked promoters in their downline.
This split difference continues until the full $125 or $250 Builder Bonus is paid out.
Note that as Black Royal promoters qualify for the maximum $125/$250 Builder Bonus, nothing is ever passed up on their sales or if they are the next qualified upline.

MWR Life Conclusion
I wrote this about My Warranty Rewards eleven years ago;
Unfortunately when it comes to the compensation side of things, that’s where Warranty Rewards starts to fall apart.
The short of it? Retail incentive is lacking.
And I wrote this about MWR Life ten years ago;
As for the compensation plan, retail is still very much available but, like it was in My Warranty Rewards, overshadowed by the potential for chain-recruitment.
The same is true of MWR Life in that there are still no retail incentives.
With respect to due-diligence into MWR Life, this means evaluation of Travel Advantage on its own merits is pointless. Travel Advantage could be swapped out for anything, the end result and flow of money internally would remain the same.
At the core of MWR Life’s compliance issues is
- a promoter being able to sign up and self-qualify for commissions with an Elite Travel Advantage membership; and
- get paid to recruit others who do the same.
That’s not to say retail Travel Advantage memberships aren’t possible, just that there’s no requirement or even incentive to focus on retail.
The simplest solution here to require a 1:1 parity between retail Travel Advantage memberships sold and either limit or not count recruited promoter Travel Advantage memberships altogether.
Why this hasn’t been implemented in eleven years is a question for Yoni Ashurov and the rest of the MWR Life executive team.
Perhaps tellingly, MWR Life does not publish company-wide retail revenue figures. Of particular interest would be company-wide retail revenue figures as a percentage of total revenue.
The only indication we have as to whether MWR Life has and retains significant retail Travel Advantage memberships, is criminal charges brought against a top promoter in 2021.
Catherine Techer was a top MWR Life promoter who focused on Europe.
In 2021 authorities in Andorra charged Techer with pyramid fraud charges.
As of August 2025, Techer is believed to still be prohibited from leaving Andorra. The status of her criminal case is unclear.
MWR Life recently reached out to BehindMLM in an attempt to distance themselves from Techer. We found MWR Life’s explanations unconvincing at best.
The good news is evaluating MWR Life on a micro level is easy.
You first want to ask your potential upline how many Qualification Points they’re generating each month. Then you want to know how many of those points are from active retail Travel Advantage memberships.
You’re looking for a minimum 50% ratio between retail and recruited promoter memberships. Anything less and that promoter is running their MWR Life business as a pyramid scheme.
Given there’s no incentive or requirement to focus on retail sales over pyramid recruitment, I suspect this is the case for the majority of MWR Life promoters. It certainly appears to have been the case for Catherine Techer.
Approach with caution.
