Auction Attics: Darryle Douglas not done with penny auctions?

Three weeks before the SEC shut down Zeek Rewards, Sales Director Darryle Douglas vanished from the public eye. The official reason cited for Douglas’ departure was “personal reasons”, but in reality he’d done a runner. That was three years ago almost to the day, with Douglas neither seen nor heard from in public since… …until now.

Zeek investor files batshit crazy response to default judgement

Catherine Parker, a Canadian Zeek Rewards affiliate, stole an alleged $179,656 from Zeek Rewards victims. This earned her a spot in the Receiver’s lawsuit against top Canadian Zeek Rewards affiliates, filed back in November of last year. Following a lack of response, the Receiver filed for default judgement against Parker in December. The request was [Continue reading…]

Robert Craddock pleads guilty to wire fraud

Zeek Rewards figure Robert Craddock was indicted on charges of wire fraud back in March. This was followed by an arraignment in April, which saw Craddock plead not guilty. Now news that earlier this month Craddock has changed his tune and plead guilty to two counts of wire fraud.

Zeek Receiver to make second payment to victims

From time to time BehindMLM gets enquiries as to the status of victim claims, as well as payments issued by the Receive to Zeek Rewards victims. Obviously the Receivership themselves are too, with the Receiver publishing a June 18th update to clear up some of the confusion.

Kevin Grimes returns $1.13 million to Zeek Rewards victims

Last last month we reported that a settlement had been reached in the Zeek Rewards Receiver’s lawsuit against Kevin Grimes. Now in a settlement agreement filed on June 2nd, we can reveal that Kevin Grimes and [Continue reading…]

Mostly losing their battle to retain stolen Ponzi funds, payment processor NxPay was recently ordered to surrender $9 million dollars to the Zeek Rewards Receiver on June 1st. The funds are to be held by the Receiver until the legal dispute between the two parties is resolved. Just one problem though… NxPay now claim they [Continue reading…]

NxPay ordered to surrender $9 million to Zeek Receiver

Following the breakdown of negotiations that would see some $9 million in stolen Ponzi funds recovered, last December the Zeek Rewards Receiver took the matter to court. In response to the Receiver’s filing, NxPay continued to dispute the funds belong to the Receiver, arguing that a summary proceeding under the Agreed Order is not the appropriate [Continue reading…]

Napier folds, Gilmond hit with $2.1 million default judgment

Last we checked in with our stalwart Ponzi heroes, Gerry Napier and Trudy Gilmond were engaged in a united display of defiance. Determined not to pay back their victims, the pair were refusing to attend court-ordered depositions and cooperate with the Receiver. After repeatedly attempting to schedule the depositions, last month the Receiver gave up [Continue reading…]

Paul Burks criminal trial set for May 2016

In a decision handed down on May 29th, Judge Cogburn granted Burks’ request to further delay his criminal trial. It’s not the decision we wanted, but nonetheless Paul Burks will not enter a court room for another year yet.

Burks to be tried in November 2015 or September 2016?

The SEC shutdown Zeek Rewards in August of 2012. The $850 million Ponzi scheme’s owner, Paul Burks, was indicted in October of last year. A trial date remains pending, with the amount of discovery (Zeek Rewards information) having to be produced holding things up. To that end Burks (right) remains a relatively free man. That [Continue reading…]
