Seint has announced it is terminated its MLM opportunity, effective October 1st, 2024.

Pitched to Seint’s “Artists” (distributors) as “transition”, the company advised in an email;

Effective October 1, 2024, Seint is transitioning our Artist program from a direct selling model to an enhanced affiliate commission structure and program.

Seint’s new affiliate model will see Artists only paid on personal sales to retail customers. I’m assuming the “enhanced” bit refers to additional (non-MLM) bonuses.

Of note, Seint states moving away from MLM “aligns perfectly with our vision and values”.

Seint started off as Maskcara in 2013. The company was founded by Cara Brook (right), a former “beauty blogger/makeup artist”.

In 2021 Maskcara changed its name to Seint.

Recognizing and enhancing the beauty that already exists in every face has always been our inspiration, so we are thrilled to announce that in 2020 Maskcara Beauty is changing its name to Seint to better reflect its purpose.

This change is inspired by our belief that seeking, experiencing, and cultivating beauty is a sacred work; the work of saints.

I didn’t know what saints had to do with an MLM business opportunity in 2021. I still don’t know how running an MLM business is “sacred work” today.

I can’t speak to Seint’s financials but the company seems to have been holding at roughly half a million website visits a month. The majority of that traffic came from the US (87%) and Canada (11%).

Seint did experience a 25% reduction in website traffic between April and May 2024. Unless that was the last straw internally though that seems a bit too soon to pull the plug.
