Modere’s former parent company Maple Mountain Group has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

BehindMLM came across Maple Mountain Group’s bankruptcy in relation to a lawsuit filed by former Modere employees.

In an August 2025 filing, Plaintiffs leading the employee case

advise[d] the Court that Maple Mountain Group, Inc. d/b/a Modere Inc. initiated a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Action in
the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada on June 2, 2025.

Maple Mountain Group’s June 2nd Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition was signed off on by Thomas Avila, Sole Director and Chief Restructuring Officer.

A June 16th filed Statement of Financial Affairs saw Maple Mountain Group report no revenue from business activity since February 1st, 2025.

Bankruptcy filings are complicated but, as far as I tell, there’s no indication of how much Maple Mountain Group owed creditors at time of filing.

The filings do reveal Maple Mountain Group spent $6.1 million in the 90 days before filing for banktupycy. Over a million dollars was spent on on legal and consulting fees.

$245,305 was paid to Emily Gibson Coaching, a company that claims it helps “female network marketers … build the downline (and life) of your dreams”. $65,000 was paid to the Direct Selling Association.

BehindMLM’s interest in Maple Mountain Group extends only as far as Modere. After spectacularly collapsing without notice earlier this year, Modere was sold off to Shaklee a month later in May.

Modere’s former President Nate Frazier (right) quietly disappeared around the time of collapse. A group of top Modere promoters went on to launch Nueva.

BehindMLM is noting Maple Mountain Group’s bankruptcy proceedings only in the company’s capacity as Modere’s former owner.

Given Maple Mountain Group no longer has MLM operations, this is likely to be our only coverage of Chapter 7 proceedings.
