iMarketsLive fined $2.6 million for fraud in Poland
Defunct MLM company iMarketsLive has been fined 9.4 million PLN for pyramid fraud in Poland ($2.6 million USD).
As per UOKiK’s December 29th, 2025 press-release;
In legal MLM, profits come primarily from product sales, whereas in a pyramid-style project, the ability to receive material benefits depends primarily on introducing new people to the system.
Investigations conducted by … (UOKiK) reveal that this is precisely how the US-registered compan[y] International Markets Live (IML) operated.
Although these companies claim to be educational, their operating model meets the legal definition of prohibited pyramid-style promotional schemes, in which participants are rewarded primarily for recruiting new members rather than selling products.
These schemes are prohibited under Polish and EU law because they carry a significant risk of financial loss for consumers.
They require a constant influx of new members and their contributions, which is impossible in the long term. The system collapses, and consumers lose money.
To promote its business, IML operated an affiliate program. To join, participants had to accept the terms and conditions outlined in the Independent Business Owner (IBO) agreement upon registration, pay an initial fee, and make monthly payments in the same amount.
IBOs received commissions based on successful sales of IML products and services, either personally or through partners they recruited into their sales structure.
The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) investigation revealed that the benefits of participating in the program were primarily dependent on the introduction of new members, indicating that the company was operating a pyramid-style promotional scheme.
iMarketsLive rebooted as IM Mastery Academy in 2019. IM Mastery Academy rebooted as Iyovia in November 2024.
iMarketsLive was run by founder Chris Terry. IM Mastery Academy and Iyovia saw Terry partner up with sham wife Isis Terry, fka Isis De La Torre.

UOKiK issued an IM Mastery Academy pyramid fraud warning in August 2022. Three Polish IM Mastery Academy promoters were subsequently charged in August 2023.
In the US, the FTC filed suit against Iyovia and the Terrys in May 2025. The FTC alleges Iyovia and its predecessors defrauded consumers out of over $1.2 billion, over $20 million of which the Terrys misappropriated.
At time of publication the FTC’s Iyovia lawsuit is ongoing. A court-appointed Receiver is currently dismantling the Terrys’ efforts to conceal funds and assets.
