SourceLess operates in the MLM cryptocurrency niche.

A US address provided on SourceLess’ website belongs to Harvard Business Services, Inc. Harvard Business Services, Inc. sells Delaware company formation and mail forwarding services.

Heading up SourceLess is founder and CEO Alexandru Stratulat.

Alexandru is based out of Romania and, prior to SourceLess, founded Ccoin.

Ccoin was a pump and dump crypto scam built around its CCOS token. Ccoin appears to have collapsed in early 2022.

What’s left of Ccoin operates as Ccoin Finance. Ccoin Finance sells VISA debit cards attached to its internal crypto accounts.

SourceLess launched around 2020 and, at least on some level, appears to have been integrated into Ccoin.

In addition to Stratulat being based out of Romania, SourcLess’ official FaceBook page is also managed from Romania:

From this we can ascertain, as opposed to the US, SourceLess is based out of and operated from Romania.

SourceLess’ first two “source-less.com” and “sourceless.io” website domains have been abandoned. Today SourceLess operates from “sourceless.net”, registered through a Romanian address on February 10th, 2024.

GV stands for “Group Volume”. GV is calculated as 80% of STR Domain sales volume generated by an affiliate and their downline.

Referral Commissions

SourceLess pays a 10% referral commission on personal sales of STR Domain packages.

Residual Commissions

SourceLess pays residual commissions via a binary compensation structure.

A binary compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a binary team, split into two sides (left and right):

The first level of the binary team houses two positions. The second level of the binary team is generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).

Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing twice as many positions as the previous level.

Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of affiliates. Note there is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow.

At the end of each week SourceLess tallies up STR Domain sale volume on both sides of the binary team.

Residual commissions are paid as 10% of volume generated on their weaker binary team side.

  • non-ranked SourceLess affiliates can earn up to $500 a week
  • 1 Star ranked affiliates can earn up to $2500 a week
  • 2 Star ranked affiliates can earn up to $5000 a week
  • 3 Star ranked affiliates can earn up to $15,000 a week
  • 4 Star ranked affiliates can earn up to $25,000 a week
  • 5 Star ranked affiliates can earn up to $50,000 a week
  • 6 Star ranked affiliates can earn up to $125,000 a week
  • 7 Star ranked affiliates have no weekly residual commission earning cap

Once paid out on, volume is matched against the stronger binary team side and flushed. Leftover volume on the stronger binary team side carries over.

Matching Bonus

SourceLess pays a Matching Bonus via a unilevel compensation structure.

A unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them (level 1):

If any level 1 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team.

If any level 2 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.

SourceLess caps the Matching Bonus at five unilevel team levels:

  • 1 Star ranked affiliates earn a 10% Matching Bonus on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates)
  • 2 Star or Platinum Package affiliates earn a 20% Matching Bonus on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates)
  • 3 Star ranked affiliates earn a 20% Matching Bonus on level 1 and 5% on level 2
  • Diamond Package affiliates earn a 20% Matching Bonus on level 1 and 10% on level 2
  • 4 Star or Double Diamond Package affiliates earn a 20% Matching Bonus on level 1, 10% on level 2 and 5% on level 3
  • 5 Star ranked affiliates earn a 20% Matching Bonus on level 1, 10% on levels 2 and 3 and 5% on level 4
  • Tripe Diamond Package affiliates earn a 20% Matching Bonus on level 1, 10% on level 2 and 5% on levels 3 to 5
  • 6 Star ranked affiliates earn a 20% Matching Bonus on level 1, 10% on levels 2 and 3 and 5% on levels 4 and 5
  • 7 Star ranked affiliates earn a 20% Matching Bonus on level 1 and 10% on levels 2 to 5

Influencer Compensation Plan

SourceLess operates a separate compensation plan for “influencers”.

Influencer affiliate membership costs $499 and pays $20 per domain sold.

For SourceLess affiliates who recruit influencer members, they receive:

  • $10 per domain sold and
  • 30 GV into their binary team per domain sold

Joining SourceLess

SourceLess affiliate membership is $149 and then $99 annually.

Note that to participate in SourceLess’ MLM compensation plan, affiliates are forced to spend $500 to $100,000 on STR domains.

SourceLess Conclusion

Ever visited an STR website? Yeah, me neither.

In yet another example of a crypto solution looking for a problem, SourceLess markets “revolutionary blockchain-based domain names”.

Can I just punch in an STR Domain name to access a website? There’s no information on this on SourceLess’ or STR Domains’ respective website – so the answer appears to be no.

Unless the public can just punch in an STR Domain into the address bar of a reputable browser and access the designated website, STR Domains are DOA. And, years after launching, that appears to be where we’re at.

As of January 2025 STR Domain website traffic was too low for SimilarWeb to track.

Attached to SourceLess’s failed STR Domains is a pay-to-play MLM pyramid scheme.

Because there’s no retail interest in STR Domains, SourceLess forces affiliates to purchase them. This translates to SourceLess affiliate being the primary purchasers of STR Domains, which they do in order to get paid on purchases by recruited affiliates.

In other words, a classic product-based pyramid scheme model.

I recall some time back BehindMLM received a few requests to review SourceLess’ STR token launch. This appeared to be a non-MLM pump and dump scheme so we didn’t review it.

I do however want to to note that STR seems to have run its course. As of March 2025, STR’s price is not listed on CoinMarketCap and STR doesn’t appear to exist outside of SourceLess.

A chart on CoinMarketCap suggests there are ~4680 STR token bagholders.

As with all MLM pyramid schemes, once affiliate recruitment dries up so too will commissions.

When recruitment completely dries up, SourceLess collapses and the majority of participants inevitably lose money.
