GoBets fails to provide ownership or executive information on its website.

In fact as I write this, GoBets’ website is nothing more than an affiliate login/register form:

This is a major red flag.

GoBets’ website domain (“gobets.live”), was privately registered on January 16th, 2024.

Further research reveals GoBets marketing citing “Leonardo Fontes” as CEO.

On social media Fontes goes by Leo Fonttes:

Fonttes, a heavily tattooed Brazilian who lives/lived in Thailand, claims he’s played professional football in 19 countries.

As far as I can tell Fonttes has no MLM experience. He doesn’t appear to have any executive experience, period.

This makes Fonttes a prime Boris CEO candidate.

As of May 2024, SimilarWeb tracked top sources of traffic to GoBets as Russia (70%), Ukraine (9%) and Armenia (5%).

Russia’s traffic dominance is enough to suggest whoever is running GoBets is likely from and/or has ties to Russia. This ties in with Fonttes being a Boris CEO (an actor paid to pretend to be an MLM executive).

Fonttes also appears to have ties to Dubai:

Due to the proliferation of scams and failure to enforce securities fraud regulation, BehindMLM ranks Dubai as the MLM crime capital of the world.

BehindMLM’s guidelines for Dubai are:

  1. If someone lives in Dubai and approaches you about an MLM opportunity, they’re trying to scam you.
  2. If an MLM company is based out of or represents it has ties to Dubai, it’s a scam.

If you want to know specifically how this applies to GoBets, read on for a full review.

GoBets’ Products

GoBets has no retailable products or services.

Affiliates are only able to market GoBets affiliate membership itself.

GoBets’ Compensation Plan

GoBets affiliates invest tether (USDT). This is done on the promise of an advertised 250% ROI:

  • invest 20 USDT and receive 50 USDT
  • invest 60 USDT and receive 150 USDT
  • invest 100 USDT and receive 250 USDT
  • invest 200 USDT and receive 500 USDT
  • invest 600 USDT and receive 1500 USDT
  • invest 1000 USDT and receive 2500 USDT
  • invest 2000 USDT and receive 5000 USDT
  • invest 6000 USDT and receive 15,000 USDT
  • invest 10,000 USDT and receive 25,000 USDT
  • invest 20,000 USDT and receive 50,000 USDT

Returns appear to be paid daily and are tied to “daily operations” (pointless tasks).

The user can buy as many contracts as they want to carry out daily operations and increase profits.

The MLM side of GoBets pays on recruitment of affiliate investors.

GoBets Affiliate Ranks

There are five ranks in GoBets’ compensation plan.

Along with their respective qualification criteria, they are as follows:

  1. Fan – generate 20,000 USDT in personally recruited affiliate investment
  2. Player – generate 40,000 USDT in personally recruited affiliate investment
  3. Coach – generate 100,000 USDT in personally recruited affiliate investment
  4. Director – generate 500,000 USDT in personally recruited affiliate investment
  5. President – generate 1,000,000 USDT in personally recruited affiliate investment

Referral Commissions

GoBets pays referral commissions via a unilevel compensation structure.

A unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them (level 1):

If any level 1 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team.

If any level 2 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.

GoBets caps payable unilevel team levels at five.

Referral commissions are paid as a percentage of funds invested across these five levels as follows:

  • level 1 (personally recruited affiliates) – 10%
  • level 2 – 2%
  • levels 3 to 5 – 1%

ROI Match

GoBets pays a ROI match on daily returns paid to recruited affiliates.

The ROI Match is paid out using the same unilevel compensation structure referral commissions are paid out with (see “referral commissions” above).

Whereas GoBets only pays referral commissions down five unilevel team levels however, the ROI Match is paid down twelve levels:

  • level 1 – 20% match
  • levels 2 and 3 – 15% match
  • level 4 – 10% match
  • levels 5 to 12 – 5% match

Rank Achievement Bonus

GoBets rewards affiliates for qualifying at Fan and higher with the following one-time Rank Achievement Bonuses:

  • qualify at Fan and receive 1000 USDT
  • qualify at Player and receive 2000 USDT
  • qualify at Coach and receive 10,000 USDT
  • qualify at Director and receive 50,000 USDT plus a bonus 2% in referral commissions (personally recruited affiliates only)
  • qualify at President and receive 100,000 USDT plus an iPhone, MacBook, “shirt”, “hueso” (translates to English as “bone”) and a bonus 5% in referral commissions (personally recruited affiliates only)

Joining GoBets

GoBets affiliate membership is tied to a minimum 20 USDT investment.

GoBets Conclusion

GoBets immediately presents itself as a scam by way of its website being a login/registration form.

Research into GoBets’ business model and attached MLM opportunity, reveals a classic task-based Ponzi and pyramid scheme.

There are references to “placing bets” in GoBets’ marketing. When coupled with the football marketing theme, this suggests GoBets ties daily returns to placing fictional bets.

As it stands the only verifiable source of revenue entering Gobets is new investment. Using new investment to pay GoBets affiliate’s a 250% return would make it a Ponzi scheme.

Nothing is marketed or sold to retail customers within GoBets. This makes the MLM side of GoBets a pyramid scheme.

As with all MLM Ponzi schemes, once affiliate recruitment dries up so too will new investment.

This will starve GoBets of ROI revenue, eventually prompting a collapse.

The math behind Ponzi schemes guarantees that when they collapse, the majority of participants lose money.
