Monat settles “slashed earnings” lawsuit
Monat has settled a lawsuit alleging top distributor earnings were slashed over the past two years.
Toni Vanschoyck, a top Monat distributor for over a decade, filed suit in June 2024.
In her lawsuit Vanschoyck (right) claimed her commissions had dropped 75% since 2022. Prior to the downturn, Vanschoyck alleged she’d been earning over $100,000 a month with Monat since 2015.
After questioning why her commissions had been slashed, Vanschoyck claims Monat terminated her in May 2024.
In November 2024 Vanschoyck’s case was referred to mediation.
On January 14th a Final Mediation Report was filed, informing the court a confidential settlement agreement had been reached.
On January 15th the court requested the parties file a Joint Stipulation of Dismissal and closed the case. Vanschoyck filed the joint stipulation on on January 31st.
As the reached settlement is confidential whether or not any money changed hands is unclear.
In late 2024 Vanschoyck announced she would launching her own MLM company.
FermaGlo’s website pitched “fermented beauty products” but is currently in “pre, pre launch”:
Monat recently settled another lawsuit on January 27th, alleging company owners ran the business like a “mafia family”.
As with Vanschoyck’s suit, Monat’s “mafia family” lawsuit was settled confidentially through a joint stipulation.
