Epicure has collapsed. Without warning to its MLM Ambassadors or customers, the company disabled its websites yesterday.

Epicure’s social media profiles have also been nuked.

After Epicure disappeared from the internet, owner and founder Sylvie Rochette sent out the following communication to the company’s Ambassadors;

To Our Ambassador Community,

After 32 incredible years, it’s with great sadness that I share that effective today, January 24, 2025, Epicure is immediately ceasing its operations.

This was not a choice made lightly, but one born from the weight of financial challenges many in the industry have experienced following the pandemic.

Despite our relentless commitment to our mission of promoting healthier living and supporting time-starved families in creating nourishing meals together, we were sadly unable to fully recover.

Epicure is working with MNP to determine next steps post-closure. You will receive further communication from MNP within five business days.

As Epicure is based out of North Saanich in Canada, I believe “MNP” refers to the Canadian debt management company.

Sylvie Rochette (right) founded Epicure in 1991 and sold cookware, non-perishables and meal starters.

In the wake of Epicure’s collapse, Rochette has also disappeared from the internet.

As of December 2024, SimilarWeb was tracking ~169,900 monthly visits to Epicure’s website.

81% of Epicure’s website traffic originated from Canada, followed by 11% from the US.

Update 7th February 2025 – Epicure has filed for bankruptcy. Quoting Epicure’s bankruptcy trustee, Times Colonist reports “Epicure Inc. has a shortfall of $5.7 million on its books”.

Epicure’s assets total $9.252 million, MNP said. Total liabilities are about $15 million, leaving a shortage of $5.7 million.

MNP is in the midst of liquidating Epicure products via the company’s website, which says “Everything must go.” The products are being sold as “final sale, as is, where is.”

Bankruptcy proceedings are hard enough to follow let alone offshore proceedings, so BehindMLM probably won’t be keeping a close eye on Epicure’s bankruptcy.

Suffice to say Epicure’s collapse appears to be final.

Update 19th April 2025 – As per an April 17th notice posted to Epicure’s website, the company is planning a reboot under “new Canadian ownership”.

The new ownership includes Adam and Amir Assadkhan, founders of Magic Scoop Nutrition and co-founders of Vitasave; Kyle Vucko, co-founder of Indochino; and Amelia Warren, the former Epicure CEO who helped lead the company through decades of product growth and brand expansion.

The team is already working with Canadian manufacturers to reintroduce Epicure’s most-loved products, making them available coast to coast via epicure.com, select retailers, and a robust affiliate program.

Epicure will be relaunching in Summer 2025.

Note Epicure’s announcement doesn’t explicitly clarify whether or not its “affiliate program” will be MLM or not.
