KhayaConnect Review: Hanli Lombard in another pyramid
KhayaConnect operates in the cell service MLM niche. As per the “About Our Company” section of KhayaConnect’s website;
Khaya Connect (Pty) Ltd is a registered private company in South Africa, with CIPC.
Heading up KhayaConnect we have CEO Carel Keuzenkamp.

On LinkedIn, Keuzenkamp cites himself as an
experienced financial accountant with a demonstrated history of working in the FMCG, wine and spirits, motor, and solar industries.
Keuzenkamp doesn’t have an MLM history. This is likely due to KhayaConnect probably being run by Hanli Lombard, Head of Sales and Marketing.
Lombard first appeared on BehindMLM’s radar in 2022 as the admin behind several “Mula” branded Ponzi schemes.
By November 2022 Lombard was up to her fifth “Mula” Ponzi reboot.
As of June 2024, Lombard was promoting LiveGood, an MLM company that suspected of operating as a pyramid scheme.
In October 2024, South African authorities issued a Dial A Mula securities fraud warning, citing several associated companies;
- Umvuzo Lifestyle Creators;
- AW Fund Management Pty Ltd;
- Dial A Mula Administrators Pty Ltd;
- Hunters Wealth Empowerment Pty Ltd; and
- Umvuzo Management Group Ptd Ltd
KhayaConnect promotion appears to have begun in or around August 2025. This suggests that LiveGood promotion in South Africa, or at least wherever Lombard is promoting it, has collapsed.
KhayaConnect’s website domain (“khayaconnect.com”), was privately registered on December 12th, 2024.
Read on for a full review of KhayaConnect’s MLM opportunity.
KhayaConnect’s Products
KhayaConnect has no retailable products or services.
Promoters are only able to market KhayaConnect promoter membership itself.
KhayaConnect promoter membership provides access to a cell phone plan and financial services app.
KhayaConnect’s Compensation Plan
KhayaConnect promoters pay membership fees. Commissions are paid when they recruit others who do the same.
KhayaConnect pays recruitment commissions via two matrix tiers; a 4×4 matrix and a 4×7 matrix.
A 4×4 matrix places a promoter at the top of a matrix with four positions directly under them:

The second level of the matrix is generated by splitting these first four positions into another four positions each (sixteen positions).
Levels three and four of the matrix are generated in the same manner, with each new level housing four times as many positions as the previous level.
A 4×7 matrix expands on this down a total of seven levels.
Positions in either matrix are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of promoters, paying either R190 or R190 plus R350 a month.
4×4 Matrix Recruitment Commissions
Entry into the 4×4 matrix costs R190 and then R190 a month.
Recruitment commissions across the four levels of the 4×4 matrix are as follows:
- level 1 (4 positions) – R50 a month per position filled
- level 2 (16 positions) – R35 a month per position filled
- level 3 (64 positions) – R10 a month per position filled
- level 4 (256 positions) – R5 a month per position filled
4×7 Matrix Recruitment Commissions
Entry into the 4×7 matrix costs R350 and then R350 a month.
Recruitment commissions across the seven levels of the 4×7 matrix are as follows:
- level 1 (4 positions) – R100 a month per position filled
- level 2 (16 positions) – R20 a month per position filled
- level 3 (64 positions) – R20 a month per position filled
- level 4 (256 positions) – R15 a month per position filled
- level 5 (1024 positions) – R15 a month per position filled
- level 6 (4096 positions) – R15 a month per position filled
- level 7 (16,384 positions) – R15 a month per position filled
KhayaConnect also rewards promoters for filling up levels of the 4×7 matrix:
- unlock level 1 = cell phone plan upgrade, access to a “lifestyle app”, “complimentary will and testament”, “10% off CTU online courses” and “optional debt support”
- unlock level 2 = cell phone plan uprade
- unlock level 3 = R750 “retail voucher”
- unlock level 4 = another R750 “retail voucher”, “accidental hospital cover”, “car rental and guesthouse discounts”, medical insurance and funeral cover

KhayaConnect Conclusion
KhayaConnect is a simple pyramid scheme with bundled products.
The cell phone plan is similar to what Hanli Lombard bundled into some of her collapsed “Mula” Ponzis.
The financial services app appears to be a white label offering of Virtiply.

As per Virtiply’s website, app users “download the app” and then “invest in units backed by gold [and] silver”.
Virtiply fails to provide audited financial reports to verify funds invested through its app are backed by anything. As for offering an investment scheme to consumers, Vertiply’s website “app terms” states;
Virtiply (Pty) Limited provides financial services as appointed and registered juristic person of Your Broker House Service Provider FSP46444.
Virtiply itself doesn’t appear to be registered with the FSCA. This is potential securities fraud (I’m only noting this because KhayaConnect is funneling its promoters to Virtiply’s app).
Naturally who owns and/or is running Virtiply isn’t disclosed on the company’s website. It’s highly likely that Lombard is involved.
As for the other products bundled with unlocking KhayaConnect matrix tiers, what I wrote about MulaUp in 2022 applies;
Hanli Lombard has bundled various garbage across each matrix cycler tier.
Even if there is value to the bundles, one cannot legitimize a pyramid scheme through bundling of products and/or services. Either an MLM company is generating the majority of its revenue through sales to retail customers, or it is engaged in fraud.
As with all MLM pyramid schemes, once promoter recruitment dries up so too will new monthly fee payments.
This will see those at the bottom of KhayaConnect’s pyramid scheme eventually stop paying monthly fees. This in turn will see promoters above them stop getting paid.
Unless new suckers are found, these promoters will also eventually stop paying monthly fees. Once enough KhayaConnect promoters stop paying monthly fees, an irreversible collapse is triggered.
Math guarantees that when a pyramid scheme collapses, the majority of participants lose money.
