According to a FAQ published on the Hyten Global website, the company is a “transition” from HopRocket.

From what I’ve been able to ascertain, the transition from HopRocket to Hyten Global took place on or around December, 2016.

The Hyten Global website domain (“hytenglobal.com”) was privately registered on October 14th, 2016.

HopRocket itself was launched in 2015 as a spinoff of the failed JM Ocean Avenue venture.

Whereas HopRocket provided no information about company ownership on its website, Hyten Global names Tim Richerson (CEO), Tuffy Baum (President) and David Price (International President) as co-founders of the company.

Conspicuously absent is Fred Ninow, one of the key players and co-founders of HopRocket.

Marketing material suggests Ninow was still part of HopRocket up until late 2016. Whether he’s involved in Hyten Global is unclear.

In a Hyten Global marketing video circa December, 2016, Richerson (right) stated

We knew through our research that nine out of ten people dream of traveling the world.

So based on that we created the absolute best travel product and booking engine in the industry.

But we also knew that there’d come a day that to have a complete lifestyle company, we would need other components.

So I’m here to talk to you about those other components that we’re going to offer.

Introducing: Hyten Global.

Tim Richerson’s Hyten Global corporate bio credits him with

30+ years of vast and varied experience that comprises consumer, financial and web based companies both in the public and private sector.

Prior experience includes: Member of the Young Presidents Organization, Chief Executive Officer of Interleukin Genetics, (at the time majority owned by a multinational direct sales company), Member of the Alan James Group (sold to Interleukin Genetics), President of Rexall Sundown, Inc. (a NASDAQ listed company sold to Royal Numico for $1.8 billion USD), Member of the Numico North American Executive Management Committee and Associate Advisory Board Member of the National Association of Drug Stores.

All three Hyten Global co-founders were HopRocket executives.

Prior to launching HopRocket, Tim Richerson’s and Tuffy Baum’s departed JM Ocean Avenue under controversial circumstances.

David Price served as COO of HopRocket and still cites the position as current on his LinkedIn profile.

Today the HopRocket website domain redirects to that of Hyten Global.

GV stands for “Group Volume” and is PV generated by an affiliate and their downline.

MLM Commission Qualification

To qualify for MLM commissions, a Hyten Global affiliate must be “active”.

Active qualification requires an affiliate to generate 50 PV over a rolling four-week period (current week plus previous three weeks).

First Order Bonus

The First Order Bonus is a percentage bonus paid out on sales volume generated by the first order placed by a new retail customer or recruited affiliate.

If the affiliate qualifying for the First Order Bonus is active with 50 to 99 PV a month, they receive a 15% First Order Bonus.

If the affiliate qualifying for the First order Bonus is active with 100 PV or more, they receive a 25% First Order Bonus.

In both instances the first upline affiliate who is active with 100 PV or more at the time receives a 5% residual First Order Bonus.

Residual Commissions

Hyten Global pay residual commissions via a binary compensation structure.

A binary compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a binary team, split into two sides (left and right):

The first level of the binary team houses two positions. The second level of the binary team is generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).

Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing twice as many positions as the previous level.

Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of affiliates. Note that there is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow.

Residual commissions are paid as a percentage of matches sales volume on both sides of the binary team.

  • active affiliates with 50 PV and 200 GV in weekly weaker binary team volume are paid 10%
  • active affiliates with 100 PV and at least 10,000 in weekly weaker binary volume are paid 12%
  • active affiliates with 150 PV and at least 20,000 in weekly weaker binary volume are paid 15%

On top of the above percentage payouts, Hyten Global also cap payable weekly binary commissions based on rank:

  • Bronze, Silver and Gold affiliates can earn up to $2500 a week
  • Pearl, Sapphire and Ruby affiliates can earn up to $5000 a week
  • Emerald and Diamond affiliates can earn up to $10,000 a week
  • Blue Diamond and higher affiliates can earn up to $30,000 a week

Unmatched volume in the stronger binary side is carried over but capped at 1,000,000 GV in total.

Check Match Bonus

Gold and higher ranked Hyten Global affiliates receive a Check Match Bonus on residual binary commissions earned by their downline.

The Check Match Bonus is paid out via a unilevel compensation plan.

A unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them (level 1):

If any level 1 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team.

If any level 2 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.

Hyten Global cap payable Check Match Bonus levels at four.

  • Gold ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates)
  • Pearl ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1 and 15% match on level 2
  • Sapphire ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% match on level 2 and 10% match on level 3
  • Ruby ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% match on level 2 and 10% match on levels 3 and 4
  • Emerald and higher ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% match on level 2, 10% match on levels 3 and 4 and 5% match on level 5

Lifestyle Bonus

The Lifestyle Bonus is a weekly bonus of $100 paid to Pearl and higher ranked affiliates.

Rank Achievement Bonus

Hyten Global pay a Rank Achievement Bonus starting at the Pearl rank.

  • qualify as a Pearl and receive “1 day regional training” (US only)
  • qualify as a Ruby and receive a “regional trip” valued at $2000
  • qualify as an Emerald and receive $5000 on the first, third and fifth rolling 4 week commission periods
  • qualify as a Diamond and receive $10,000 on the first, third and fifth rolling 4 week commission periods and an “international trip” valued at $8000 (trip requires Diamond qualification maintained for 52 weeks from July of any year)
  • qualify as a Blue Diamond and receive $15,000 on the first, third, fifth and seventh rolling 4 week commission periods
  • qualify as a Black Diamond and receive $18,000 on the first, third, fifth, seventh and ninth rolling 4 week commission periods
  • qualify as a Crowne Diamond and receive $25,000 on the first, third, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh rolling 4 week commission periods and an “exclusive VIP trip” valued at $20,000

Note that Rank Achievement Bonuses do not stack. An affiliate is only paid the Rank Achievement Bonus at their qualifying rank at the end of the four-week rolling commission period.

Global Pool Bonus

Hyten Global place 3% of company-wide sales revenue into a Global Pool.

Affiliates earn shares in the Global Pool weekly based on rank:

  • Emerald affiliates receive 50 shares
  • Diamond affiliates receive 100 shares
  • Blue Diamond affiliates receive 200 shares

Conclusion

While the history of Hyten Global might be somewhat turbulent, the current offering is pretty well-rounded for an MLM opportunity.

Unfortunately there are some issues with retail volume that still need to be addressed.

The travel discount subscription MLM niche is one marred in pyramid scheme territory (Hop Rocket was no different, paying recruitment commissions across nine levels), so it’s great to see Hyten Global launch with additional products.

Hyten Global’s flagship product appears to be KetoBoost, which might present a marketing challenge for affiliates.

Most people probably aren’t going to know what ketones are or how they can aid in weight loss, and so that’s going to require explanation right off the bat.

In its most basic form you’re basically trying to get the body to burn off fat (converted into ketones) instead of sugar. Sale of a $120 ketone supplement however will likely require a more detailed pitch.

The rest of Hyten Global’s nutritional line is complimentary but nothing really stands out on its own. Not to say it’s a bad offering, just that it could be the product lineup of any nutritional MLM company.

The travel discount memberships I’m still not certain over. The annual memberships might provide value if you’re booking a fair bit of travel in a year but I can’t really see anyone but affiliates purchasing the Premium subscription (~$981 a year).

Hyten Global affiliates can use their own travel as a marketing tool. For a retail customer however that’s a lot of travel to book just to make back the $981 a year fee (only after which discounts are actually realized).

With respect to the compensation plan, unfortunately chain recruitment is still possible.

Retail volume does matter to some extent, but only for complimentary commissions and bonuses.

The 3 X Free Bonus is a good example of this.

If an affiliate’s retail order volume for the current four-week period is at least three times that of their own autoship order, they receive their next month autoship (of the same value) for free.

A nice touch but external to the commission side of the compensation plan, in which retail can be ignored.

The quick solution to this is requiring the 50-150 PV monthly volume requirement be retail.

Other than intentionally allowing affiliates to ignore retail sales, I can’t see why Hyten Global didn’t implement this.

Strong retail incentives are obviously great to see in an MLM compensation plan, but if they’re optional they can very easily be classified as pseudo-compliance.

If retail volume is being generated by Hyten Global affiliates in significant numbers, then the compensation plan offers neat progression and plenty of income earning opportunity.

If retail is merely lip-service on paper, the Hyten Global transition from HopRocket has just added more ways for affiliates to spend money and earn from their recruited downline.

The good news is establishing whether this is the case on a micro level is easy enough. Just ask your potential upline how they’re generating their required PV each month.

If they aren’t even generating 50 PV a month in retail volume, that’s a good sign they’ve built their business on pyramid recruitment.

If you sign up under them, there’s a good chance you’ll be coached on building a recruitment heavy business and not much else.

Approach with caution.
